The Senior R&D Engineer engages in New Product Development (NPD) of advanced filtration projects and Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) using application knowledge from semiconductor photolithographic processes. Provides support within the group and cross-functionally as needed to drive innovation and transfer to manufacturing.  In this role, you will develop state-of-the-art filtration, purification and separation products and processes for advanced semiconductor markets in photolithography and wet etch and clean chemicals.

This position reports to the R&D Manager and is part of the Global R&D Organization in Tsukuba, Japan and will be an on-site role.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Apply technical background (photolithography) for development of new filter technologies that enable New Product Development
• Lead R&D programs focused on cleaning and conditioning filters used in semiconductor photolithography processes.
• Apply Design of Experiments to understand cleaning mechanisms, process interactions, and critical operating parameters.
• Works closely with manufacturing to assure the development of new products can be effectively scaled up and manufactured with high reliability
• Communicate with leadership, team members, and other key cross-functional partners, work with global teams, labs, and engineering resources in other time zones, collaborate to enable breakthrough innovation

The essential requirements of the job include:

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Eight or more years of relevant semiconductor lithography experience; an advanced degree may substitute for a portion of the experience requirement

• Experience with semiconductor lithography materials, including photoresists, developers, solvents, or formulated patterning materials is preferred
• Working knowledge of advanced-node semiconductor contamination requirements and defectivity mechanisms.

• Proficient English oral/written communication skills

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Experience with Semiconductor-grade filtration products, installation, and qualification
• Knowledge of semiconductor analytical methods for particles, metals, ions, and organic contamination
• Familiarity with ultraclean manufacturing environments and high-purity chemical systems
