About the role...
Duolingo’s social channels have become a cultural phenomenon. Now we’re looking for a social-native creative who can take our speed-of-culture thinking beyond the feed and into the real world.
You’ll join Duolingo’s Brand Marketing Studio and work closely with our social team to transform trends, memes and cultural moments into breakthrough ideas across social, experiential, OOH, partnerships, events, and unexpected corners of culture.
You’re part content creator, part copywriter, part art director, and deeply fluent in the internet. You can make something yourself when speed matters, develop a bigger idea when the opportunity deserves it and give sharp feedback that makes other creators’ work more ownable, timely and unmistakably Duolingo.
🧠 You will...
- Turn social moments into ideas that move beyond the feed, including stunts, billboards, products, mascot appearances, partnerships, pop-ups and more
- Provide clear, actionable feedback to social content creators, helping make their work more ownable, culturally relevant and true to Duolingo
- Develop and ship ambitious creative on internet timelines, often moving from opportunity to execution within one or two weeks
- Identify validated trends, memes, fandoms and cultural moments where Duolingo can play a meaningful and unexpected role
- Create original social-native content yourself when the strongest idea is still a great post, video or meme
- Help steward and evolve Duolingo’s distinctive voice, visual language, characters and sense of humor across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, X and emerging platforms
- Work closely with social, brand marketing, design, production, PR, partnerships and legal to determine what we can make and how quickly we can make it
- Present ideas clearly and persuasively, from a fast Slack pitch to a fully developed creative deck
- Raise the creative standard of our daily social work while spotting opportunities with business impact and award-winning potential
✅ You have...
The most important thing you’ll bring to this interview is your portfolio. We want to see work that made people stop scrolling and ideas too big to stay in the feed.
Beyond that, you have:
- 7+ years of experience creating culturally relevant work for social platforms, brands, agencies, media companies or your own audience
- A portfolio that demonstrates social-native thinking, strong concepts and excellent creative craft
- Deep fluency in internet culture and an instinct for distinguishing an emerging opportunity from a dying trend
- A clear point of view on what great social creative looks like now and where it’s going next
- Strong copywriting skills and a sharp eye for art direction, design and visual storytelling
- Expertise in short-form video, including concepting, directing and getting the work made
- Experience turning cultural insights into ideas beyond social posts, such as experiential activations, earned-media stunts, OOH, products or partnerships
- Experience giving direct, useful creative feedback that helps other creators improve their ideas and execution
- The ability to operate at both the strategic and hands-on level; you’re not too senior to make things
- Strong taste, low ego, and the ability to make the work better through collaboration
- The ability to work from or relocate to Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY

The offered salary is dependent upon several factors, including work experience, skills, and internal peer comparisons. The posted range is subject to change in the future.
