As a Senior Color Formulator, you will develop pigment-based coatings, dispersions, and intermediates that meet the color, performance, and regulatory requirements of internal and external customers. You will achieve this through the structured execution of innovation and continuous improvement projects. Additionally, you will provide specialized technical support collaboration, and ensure throughout the entire product lifecycle. All of these efforts will be in compliance with our Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (EHS) standards.

You will reporto to Technical Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Create pigment-based coatings and dispersions that meet the color requirements of internal and external customers.

• Ensure that developed formulations comply with critical performance and regulatory requirements established by internal and external customers.

• Collaborate on color development, adjustment, and optimization projects throughout the entire product lifecycle.

• Collaborate on the development, adjustment, optimization, and manufacturing support of intermediates and dispersions.

• Communicate with internal customers throughout project execution.

• You will provide technical support, consultation, and training related to product development, color science, and pigments to members of the organization.

• Guide technicians and formulators through the requirements of customers' new product development and launch processes to ensure successful completion of each project milestone.

• Promote and follow a structured approach to project execution, applying all available methodological and technological tools.

• You will implement strategies, working with technicians and fellow formulators.

• Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) projects and continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.

• Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in color design and development projects within the automotive industry.

• Demonstrated experience in paint manufacturing processes, including grinding and milling operations.

• Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of color evaluation (visual and instrumental), pigment selection, Design of Experiments (DOE), and formulation of both waterborne and solventborne technologies.

• General theoretical and practical knowledge of coating application processes (automated and manual).

• General knowledge of automotive quality tools and methodologies.

• Color discrimination ability.

• Conversational English proficien
