The Role:
The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for leading the design, deployment, migration, and optimization of cloud and hybrid infrastructure solutions across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and virtualization platforms.
This L3 role supports both solution delivery and pre‑sales activities, ensures high‑quality technical execution, mentors junior engineers, and contributes towards improving delivery frameworks and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Cloud Architecture & Delivery
- Design, implement, and optimize Azure IaaS/PaaS workloads including Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, PIM, Backup, and Azure hybrid environments.
- Lead deployments of Entra Connect, hybrid identity configurations, domain synchronization, and access management.
- Implement cloud governance including security baselines, identity protection, conditional access, compliance, and policies.
- Drive delivery of Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Defender, and MIP/DLP.
- AI and Data (Fabric) related projects.
- Any solutions which are SaaS-based solutions (eg Zscaler, Cloudflare, LogicMonitor)
2. Migration & Modernization
- Lead tenant‑to‑tenant migrations (M365→M365, GWS→M365), Exchange on‑prem to Exchange Online, Azure migrations, and Active Directory modernization projects.
- Provide design validation, migration planning, cutover execution, and troubleshooting for enterprise clients.
3. Infrastructure & Virtualization
- Support and optimize environments using Azure VMware Solutions, Azure Local, Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), W365 and on‑prem Windows Server/AD.
- Troubleshoot issues in Windows, Linux, Ubuntu VMs, VPN, networking, identity, and storage layers.
4. Security & Compliance
- Implement and optimize Microsoft Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Secure Score, Microsoft Purview, Defender for Cloud, and identity security best practices.
- Conduct environment health checks and recommend corrective actions.
5. Technical Leadership & Enablement
- Mentor and guide cloud engineers in delivery, documentation, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Conduct workshops, training sessions, and end‑user/administrator enablement programs.
- Produce high‑quality documentation (HLD, LLD, project plans, UAT scripts, user guides).
6. Pre‑Sales & Consulting
- Support solutioning teams with scope development, effort estimation, BOM creation, and technical write‑ups.
- Participate in customer design workshops and provide advisory on cloud adoption frameworks.
- Collaborate with Sales and Solutions teams to develop proposals and architecture diagrams.
Required Skills and Competencies:
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure AD/Entra, Azure networking, VMs, governance & security.
- Expertise in Microsoft 365 administration: Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Defender, MIP/DLP.
- Hands‑on experience with Active Directory, GPO, DNS, DHCP, and domain/forest upgrades.
- Practical knowledge of Intune/Endpoint Manager, device compliance, app protection policies, and BYOD environments.
- Familiarity with VMware vSphere, Azure Local, Veeam Backup, and hybrid environments.
- Experience with monitoring platforms (PRTG, LogicMonitor or similar)
- Good understanding of security concepts—Zero Trust, identity protection, MFA, role-based access control.

Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications highly preferred: Microsoft: AZ‑900, AZ‑104, MS‑102, MS‑900, MS‑700
- (Bonus) Any Azure Architect, Security, AI, Data (Fabric) or VMware certifications.
- Excellent communication and consulting skills.

- Ability to simplify complex technical topics for diverse audiences.
