The role offers a flexible hybrid working model, enabling you to work from home, client sites, and AtkinsRéalis offices across the Midlands, Southwest, and Wales. Beyond day-to-day project delivery, you'll benefit from structured career development, professional training, and clear progression opportunities within a supportive and inclusive environment.

Your role

As a Senior CDM / Health & Safety Consultant, you will provide expert advice and practical solutions to help clients and project teams meet their obligations under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015). • Reviewing designs and construction proposals to identify, assess, and mitigate health and safety risks.

  • Providing practical guidance on design risk management and promoting best-practice health and safety outcomes.

  • Assisting clients in developing effective systems and processes to achieve compliance with relevant legislation.

  • Conducting health and safety audits, inspections, and site reviews where required.

  • Preparing professional reports, risk assessments, and CDM-related documentation.

  • Delivering Health & Safety and CDM training sessions to clients and project teams.

  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary design, engineering, and project management teams to integrate safety into project delivery.

  • Supporting the continuous improvement of quality assurance processes and maintaining awareness of evolving legislation and industry best practice.

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships through responsive and professional service delivery.

  • Contributing health and safety expertise across the wider business and mentoring less experienced colleagues where appropriate.

About you

  • Experience within the construction industry, with a sound understanding of construction design and project delivery.

  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of assignments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional reports and technical documentation.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement and client-facing skills.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant software tools.

  • Professional membership or chartership with IOSH or a related professional body or actively working towards achieving it.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.

Desirable skills & qualifications

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or willingness to undertake the qualification.

  • Experience conducting health and safety audits and construction site inspections.

  • Background in construction, engineering, architecture, or design.

  • Experience providing CDM design reviews and advising designers on risk elimination and reduction.

  • Knowledge of:
