Purpose of the role
The Hong Kong office is growing at a fast pace and we are therefore looking for an enthusiastic sales team member to increase our business.
The Sales team
The sales team has been supporting the major corporations and institutions for many years, covering most top players in Banking, Consulting and the FMCG industry. It provides marketing solutions for major companies in both consumer and industrial sectors.
The position
The Business Development Executive’s primary role is to generate new business revenue and maximise sales revenues from both existing and new clients. Initially this role will involve as well as cold calling, emailing, on-line demonstration of Euromonitor’s Passport Database, customised research discussions and face-to-face meetings with companies in your own area of responsibility. We practice consultative selling techniques which require both in-depth understanding of our complex products and an ability to gain a clear understanding of what an individual client’s needs are.
Key accountabilities
- Prospecting and networking to grow target list within territory by identifying and contacting new companies within your portfolio
- Bringing in new business for the Company through telephone calls, mail/e-mail and face-to-face meetings with potential clients. Following up leads from all sources
- Identifying and acting on opportunities for revenue growth: generating leads and cold calling as necessary
- Undertaking company research
- Conceptualising and implementing marketing activities for the department
- Working closely with the research team and sales team in other Euromonitor offices
- Providing research support; consulting and advice to clients in your territory
Requirements
We are looking for a sales – orientated and driven person, ideally from within an on-line information marketplace with at least 2 years’ experience of selling in publishing, media, on-line information or consulting.

- Willingness to learn and determination to succeed
- A creative and proactive approach to selling
- Excellent communication, presentation and selling skills, with attention to detail
- Experience in dealing with Chinese companies and MNCs across multiple industries
- Fluency in oral and written English, and Cantonese
- Able to demonstrate strong rapport building skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels
