Title and Summary

Senior Auditor

Overview:
Mastercard's Global Internal Audit team provides independent and objective assurance and advisory services to assess and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of governance, risk management, and internal control processes.

The team is seeking a Senior Auditor based in Pune, India, to support financial, operational, regulatory, and technology audit and advisory engagements. The ideal candidate is initiative-taking, intellectually curious, analytical, meticulous, and able to balance independent delivery with effective collaboration across a global team.

Role:
• Execute financial, operational, regulatory, technology, and advisory audits across business lines in accordance with Internal Audit methodology and quality standards.
• Participate in audit planning, including understanding business processes, assessing risks, contributing to scope and approach, and developing audit procedures.
• Independently evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of controls, document high-quality workpapers, and communicate testing status, potential issues, and delivery risks on a timely basis.
• Identify control gaps, root causes, and process improvement opportunities; develop practical recommendations that address underlying risks and support sustainable remediation.
• Draft clear, concise, and value-added audit observations and reports, and communicate effectively with process owners, stakeholders, and audit leadership.
• Track and validate management action plans, support ongoing risk assessment and business monitoring activities, and contribute to improvements in audit processes.
• Collaborate with local and global colleagues, provide real-time guidance to peers and new team members, and proactively support the team in meeting engagement milestones.

All About You:
• Mandatory qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA).
• 3-4 years of relevant audit experience, including statutory audits and audits under the Indian Companies Act.
• Experience evaluating financial, operational, regulatory, and internal controls, with the ability to analyze complex processes, assess risks, and apply professional skepticism.
• Background in information technology audits, such as IT general controls, technology risk, cybersecurity, information security, or technology-enabled business processes.
• Ability to execute audit activities independently and accurately, understand audit objectives and risks, identify root causes, and focus recommendations on resolving underlying issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, and time-management skills.
• A continuous learning mindset, sound business acumen, ownership of assigned responsibilities, and willingness to coach peers and support team development.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; exposure to data analytics or audit tools is desirable.
Preferred qualifications and experience
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
• Experience in technology-enabled businesses, payments, financial services, or other regulated industries.
• Knowledge of professional internal audit standards, auditing procedures, and techniques.
