À propos de ce poste Senior Associate / Special Counsel – Insurance Litigation | 5–8 PQE | Sydney chez Clyde & Co
About the role
We are looking for an experienced insurance litigator to join our Sydney team, working with Partner and national practice lead Luke O'Kane on complex, high-value insurance disputes and major loss matters.
The role offers exposure to sophisticated coverage and defence work spanning catastrophic injury and fatality claims, complex liability disputes, product liability and recall, regulatory investigations, class actions and multi-party litigation. You will work with leading Australian and international insurers, reinsurers, brokers and major corporates across sectors including aviation, transport and infrastructure.
The practice is particularly varied, combining strategic coverage advice with complex litigation often involving significant legal, commercial and reputational considerations. Matters can run from the initial incident and liability investigation through to litigation, settlement and recovery.
This is an opportunity for a 5–8 PQE lawyer looking to take on sophisticated, challenging work within a specialist insurance practice and continue developing their experience across both coverage and defence matters.
About You
You will be an experienced commercial litigator with approximately 5–8 years’ PQE, with strong technical skills and an interest in complex, high-value disputes. Australian-qualified and dual Australian/overseas-qualified lawyers are encouraged to apply.
You will bring:
- Strong commercial litigation experience gained within a leading private practice environment in Australia or overseas;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work closely with counsel, clients and other parties across complex and multi-party litigation;
- Precise, clear and commercially focused drafting skills;
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple matters and competing priorities to a consistently high standard;
- A collaborative approach, combined with the confidence to work autonomously and take ownership of matters;
- Commercial awareness and an ability to understand clients’ businesses, build trusted relationships and contribute to the development of those relationships; and
- At the more senior level, the ability to supervise and delegate effectively, support the development of junior lawyers and contribute positively to the broader team.
