Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Acquisition Manager to provide advisory & assistance services (A&AS) to support a major defense program, focusing on Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition life cycle planning and Space Force systems. The Space Systems Command (SSC) Space Combat Power (SSC/SZ) team provides highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to meet current and projected DoD operational requirements. SSC/SZ develops, integrates, tests, deploys, sustains, and supports operations for systems that meet strategic and tactical operational needs. The position is available in El Segundo, CA. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Provide space acquisitions and technical advice and assistance for all projects and programs, as required, to support any stage of the acquisition life cycle.
- Advise and assist the Government on cost, schedule, and performance matters.
- Develop draft acquisition documentation and support the presentation of products to internal and external customers.
- Develop technical and/or programmatic status report of any individual program or of the portfolio, in coordination with the Government program manager.
- Identify areas of improvement, including acquisition process improvements.
- Support the Government program manager on commitments, obligations, and expenditures of funds and perform earned value management and schedule analysis in support of program office defense contracts.
- Review and analyze packages delivered in support of DoD programs.
- Assist the Government to execute source selections subject to FAR 9.505-4. Source selection assistance activities.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelors degree with 15+ years of extensive, relevant experience including duties/assignments specifically in support of space programs
- Relevant areas of expertise limited to the following: Management, Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Science, Technology, Engineering, or Statistics financial management, security, logistics, personnel, requirements, and technical organizations.
- Deep understanding of mission critical aspects of Government acquisitions, space launch, ground, sustainment and associated projects.
- Expected to independently perform all functional duties, even of the lower labor categories, and require no additional functional training.
- Knowledge of Higher Headquarters, Air Force/Space Force processes and procedures as it relates to their functional responsibility and speak/write Air Force and Space Force Acquisition terminology appropriately
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
- Experience working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- AN ACTIVE DOD TOP SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE with SCI ELIGIBILITY IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION FOR WHICH, YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN
