The Senior Accountant, Consolidations is a core member of the accounting organization, responsible for executing and supporting all aspects of general ledger accounting, consolidations, and month-end close process. We’re looking for a candidate who is a future leader with a focus on innovation and teammate engagement and transformational activities. The candidate will be highly detailed orientated, have a commitment to drive efficiencies throughout the financial reporting function to enhance the monthly close-to-report cycle as well as the internal controls over financial reporting, and consistently deliver high-quality financial data to key stakeholders in a timely fashion.
Your Responsibilities on the Team
- Formulate an understanding of the Lennar homebuilding business and accounting processes; evaluate ways to improve efficiency and drive automation
- Obtain necessary supporting documentation to enter journal entries into the general ledger accounting system and produce monthly financial statements
- Responsible for the preparation and posting of all journal entries, analysis and reconciliation related to specifically assigned general ledger accounts
- Responsible for ensuring adherence to the month end closing schedule
- Create, maintain, and use sophisticated, organized spreadsheets, to calculate related journal entries or perform analysis
- Reconcile and analyze critical and subjective accounting areas as assigned using Blackline
- Work directly with Accounting Manager on a regular basis to address accounting issues within critical accounts
- Oversee the centralized lease accounting function by serving as a point of contact for 39+ divisions and ensure timely and accurate recording of lease accounting entries
- Take an ownership and leadership role in assigned tasks and projects
- Supervise a staff accountant
- Perform other month-end reporting and projects, as assigned
Your Toolbox
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- 3+ years in public accounting and/or with a public company preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent organizational, management, analytical, decision-making and research skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task accordingly in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with MS Excel and Word. Experience with JD Edwards, Essbase, Blackline
