The Security Operations Analyst I supports operational excellence across Physical Security by monitoring key security processes, analyzing operational data, and identifying opportunities to improve security effectiveness, compliance, and service delivery. This role partners with internal stakeholders, contract security providers, and other vendors to support day-to-day security operations. The analyst manages and reconciles budgets, develops reporting and metrics, contributes to process improvement initiatives, and assists with security policies, procedures, and documentation. The role helps ensure consistent, efficient, and high-quality execution of Security Operations programs across QTS facilities. This aligns with responsibilities documented for Security Operations roles involving vendor management, reporting, compliance, investigations, and physical security program support

What You Will Do: (Job Responsibilities) 

• Review and analyze security policies, procedures, and operational processes.
• Monitor and track process control points for critical security operations, including access control, badge administration, incident management, investigations, guard force oversight, and vendor performance.
• Build and maintain working relationships with third-party security providers, contract guard forces, technology partners, and vendors supporting security programs.
• Export, combine, refine, and analyze datasets from security systems and business applications, including incident data, access control records, visitor management reporting, audit findings, budget variances, and operational metrics.
• Create dashboards, charts, reports, and presentations to summarize security trends, risks, and operational performance for leadership.
• Analyze data and operational information to identify opportunities to improve security effectiveness, compliance, and customer experience.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by gathering requirements, interviewing stakeholders, evaluating existing processes, documenting findings, and recommending enhancements.
• Track, coordinate, and report on projects and corrective actions designed to strengthen security operations and reduce risk.
• Recommend updates to security policies, procedures, standards, and documentation.
• Collaborate with Corporate Security, Facility Operations, Compliance, HR, Legal, and other teams to improve operational efficiency and consistency across the enterprise.
• Develop professional communications, reporting templates, and operational guidance documents.
• Assist with audit preparedness, compliance reviews, investigations, and security program reporting.
• Support budget tracking, forecasting, reconciliations, and vendor contract administration activities. These responsibilities are consistent with documented Security Operations and Corporate Security functions at QTS
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Need to Be Successful:  (Required Qualifications, Education, Experience, Certifications) 

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 1+ years of experience managing, reforecasting, and reconciling budgets.
• 3+ years of project coordination, operations, security, compliance, or related professional experience.
• Experience in data analysis, including use of Excel pivot tables, formulas, reporting, and charting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with, or willingness to learn, security and business applications such as access control systems, visitor management systems, incident management platforms, ServiceNow, and reporting to

Nice to Have: (Preferred Qualifications, Education, Experience, Certifications) 

• Experience managing, reforecasting, and reconciling budgets of $1M+.
• Experience working with contract security providers, security vendors, or managed service partners.
• Experience supporting physical security, investigations, compliance, auditing, risk management, or operational excellence initiatives.
• Knowledge of security operations, access control, visitor management, incident management, and security reporting.
