As a Security Engineer within the Service Management & Transformation Team, you will play a hands-on role in implementing and maintaining security controls across applications, cloud platforms, and infrastructure environments spanning on-premises data centers and major cloud providers.

This role focuses on executing security initiatives, including patch management, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, cloud security improvements, and infrastructure protection. You will collaborate closely with senior security engineers, technical leads, platform teams, and application teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant solutions while enhancing your expertise across application, cloud, and infrastructure security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute security remediation activities across applications, cloud environments, and infrastructure platforms.

  • Apply security patches, upgrade application and open-source dependencies, and remediate vulnerabilities identified through security assessments.

  • Implement operating system and cloud hardening standards, security guardrails, web application firewall (WAF) rules, and network isolation controls.

  • Review, validate, and implement pull requests generated through AI-powered SAST (Static Application Security Testing) and SCA (Software Composition Analysis) tools.

  • Coordinate with application teams to perform regression testing and validate successful remediation of security issues.

  • Support enterprise patching cycles, golden image refreshes, and software lifecycle management initiatives.

  • Remove outdated, unsupported, and unused software from server and infrastructure environments.

  • Follow established security runbooks, processes, standards, and risk-based prioritization frameworks.

  • Track remediation activities from assignment through verification and closure, escalating blockers when necessary.

  • Collaborate with global application, engineering, and platform teams to plan, implement, and validate security changes.

  • Continuously develop technical expertise in application, cloud, infrastructure, and cybersecurity domains.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Security Engineering, Software Development, Systems Administration, DevSecOps, or a related technical discipline.

  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following:

    • Security patching and vulnerability remediation

    • System and cloud configuration hardening

    • Identity and access management controls

    • Network security controls

    • Scripting and automation

  • Experience working with at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCI.

  • Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity principles, security controls, and common vulnerabilities.

  • Knowledge of vulnerability severity and risk assessment methodologies such as CVSS.

  • Ability to follow defined processes, standards, and operational runbooks.

  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

  • High attention to detail and accountability for delivering quality outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working across both cloud and on-premises infrastructure environments.

  • Exposure to DevSecOps practices and automated security tooling.

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted security remediation and automated code review processes.

  • Knowledge of security frameworks, vulnerability management programs, and risk-based remediation approaches.

  • Understanding of CISA Known Exploited Vulnerabilities (KEV) and EPSS (Exploit Prediction Scoring System) methodologies.

  • Experience implementing Web Application Firewall (WAF), network segmentation, and cloud-native security controls.

  • Exposure to secure software development practices and application security testing tools.

  • Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team environment.

  • Strong desire to build a long-term career in cybersecurity and security engineering.
