Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, is recruiting a full-time, inpatient Rehabilitation Psychologist, to work primarily with patients with SCI, but also TBI, amputation, polytrauma, and other neuromedical conditions on our inpatient Spinal Cord Injury and Comprehensive Rehabilitation Units (SCI & CRU). The psychologist should have specialty training in neurorehabilitation psychology, and have medical center/hospital, and interdisciplinary treatment team experience. This role allows you to develop active interdisciplinary team leadership, provide cognitive and psychological evaluations as needed, and psychological interventions and services for medical patients and their care partners.


The Psychology department is a large, well-supported department, with staff across services in spinal cord injury, brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and pain management clinics. The department also provides training for students and postdoctoral fellows, with mentoring/teaching opportunities available.

Qualifications:

• · PhD or PsyD from an APA/CPA-approved doctoral program in Psychology.
• · APA-accredited internship completion.
• · 1 or 2-year postdoctoral training in rehabilitation psychology, or 2+ years’ work experience with relevant patient populations.
• · Experience working in medical settings; interdisciplinary treatment teams is preferred.
• · Eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia.
• · Eligible for board certification in rehabilitation, clinical, or health psychology preferred.
