About the Opportunity
We are recruiting for a growing US-based outsourced business development agency that partners with B2B companies to build and manage their outbound sales pipelines.
The company provides clients with a complete outbound business development function, including prospecting, cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn outreach and appointment setting.
They are looking for an experienced Sales Development Representative (SDR) who is confident speaking with US decision-makers and can independently manage outbound activity from prospecting through to qualified meeting booking.
This is not a traditional call-centre position. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy and will be expected to take ownership of their pipeline, follow-ups and activity without requiring constant supervision.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct high-volume B2B cold calling into the US market.
- Engage founders, sales leaders, Heads of Growth and other senior decision-makers.
- Book qualified sales meetings with prospective clients.
- Manage follow-up activity independently and consistently.
- Use email and LinkedIn outreach alongside cold calling to engage prospects.
- Research and identify relevant prospects within defined Ideal Customer Profiles (ICPs).
- Maintain accurate prospect, activity and pipeline information within the CRM.
- Write clear, professional and personalised follow-up emails.
- Manage prospects through multiple touchpoints until a meeting is secured.
- Provide daily activity updates and weekly reporting on meetings booked and pipeline activity.
- Initially support the company's own new-business pipeline before transitioning to outbound campaigns for its clients.
- Professionally represent different client brands when conducting outbound campaigns.
- Maintain excellent CRM hygiene, notes and follow-up tasks.
Key Requirements
- 3+ years of B2B outbound sales, SDR, BDR or appointment-setting experience.
- Strong track record of cold calling as a primary sales activity.
- Previous experience engaging US-based B2B prospects is strongly preferred.
- US or Australian outbound campaign experience would be advantageous.
- Confident communicating with founders, sales leaders and senior business decision-makers.
- Excellent spoken English with a clear, neutral and professional phone manner.
- Strong written English and the ability to write professional follow-up emails without relying heavily on templates.
- Comfortable conducting unscripted, natural sales conversations.
- Strong objection-handling and qualification skills.
- Highly self-directed and able to manage follow-ups without being chased.
- Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
- Commercially driven and motivated by targets and commission.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to CRM and pipeline management.
- Must be genuinely comfortable working 17:00–02:00 SAST on a long-term basis.
- Reliable internet connection and a suitable professional remote-working environment.
Technology & Sales Tools
Experience with the following would be beneficial:
- Go High Level
- LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Gmail
- Explorium
- Vibe
- CRM and sales dialling platforms
- Prospecting and list-building tools
Candidates with experience using comparable CRM, dialler and sales engagement platforms will also be considered.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate has approximately 3–6 years of B2B outbound sales experience and has previously worked on international campaigns, particularly within the US market.
You should be someone who can be given a target market and take ownership of it. You understand that successful outbound sales requires more than simply making calls — you research prospects, manage follow-ups, personalise communication, maintain your pipeline and consistently work towards qualified meetings.
Experience within SaaS, outsourced business development, lead generation, sales agencies, marketing agencies or other B2B environments would be particularly relevant.
Candidates who have previously built their own outbound sequences, conducted prospect research, developed target lists or supported/led small outbound teams are also encouraged to apply.
Performance & Commission
In addition to monthly compensation, the position offers a performance-based commission structure:
- USD $75 for every qualified meeting held.
- 10% of the first month's revenue for any new client deal closed from a meeting you booked.
A qualified meeting must match the defined target customer profile, include an appropriate decision-maker or influencer and successfully take place.
What Success Looks Like
During the first 90 days, success will be measured by:
- Consistent outbound activity.
- A predictable flow of qualified meetings.
- Strong cold-calling performance.
- Effective prospect qualification.
- Consistent and proactive follow-up.
- Accurate CRM and pipeline management.
- Professional communication with US prospects.
- The ability to operate independently and take ownership of results.
As the role develops, you will have the opportunity to work across additional client campaigns and take greater ownership of outbound business development activity.
Interview Process
Candidates should be comfortable completing an introductory video as part of the application process.
The interview process may also include a live mock cold call and follow-up sales scenario to assess phone presence, communication, objection handling and follow-up ability.
