Reports to: Senior Planner, Bike
Location: Remote within the US considered
About the Role:
You will own replenishment for Backcountry's Bike business, focused on core and never-out-of-stock product — deciding what to reorder, how much, and when — so customers find the gear they want in stock without tying up cash in excess inventory. As Replenishment Planner, you will sit between merchants, planners, vendors, and the distribution center, turning demand signals and vendor lead times into purchase orders that protect sales and margin.
Within 6–12 months, success means you have tuned reorder points and safety stock across your categories, measurably lifted in-stock rates on top sellers, reduced overstock and aged inventory, and built a weekly exception process the merchant team relies on.
This is a lean team. You will own a lot, move fast, and make decisions with full end-to-end responsibility.
What You'll Do:
Manage end-to-end replenishment for assigned categories, generating and placing purchase orders for core and never-out-of-stock SKUs based on forecasted demand, on-hand inventory, on-order quantities, and vendor lead times.
Optimize replenishment across multi-source vendor supply chains based on availability, lead time, and profitability.
Set and maintain replenishment parameters — reorder points, min/max levels, safety stock, order multiples, and review cycles — by SKU and vendor.
Monitor in-stock rate, weeks of supply, inventory turns, sell-through, and vendor fill rate, and act quickly on stockout risk and overstock.
Run weekly exception reporting that flags out-of-stocks, late POs, and excess inventory, with recommended actions for merchants and planners.
Partner with vendors to confirm availability, expedite late shipments, resolve short-ships, and improve lead-time and fill-rate performance.
Improve replenishment tools, reports, and automation to reduce manual work and increase decision speed.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in replenishment, inventory planning, allocation, or supply chain analytics, ideally in retail or ecommerce.
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and building models from large data sets.
Working knowledge of core inventory metrics: in-stock rate, weeks of supply, turns, sell-through, safety stock, and reorder point logic.
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI to produce quality work in daily tasks.
Experience creating and managing purchase orders with vendors.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain inventory recommendations to merchants and vendors.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with a replenishment or demand forecasting system.
SQL experience (BigQuery preferred) and comfort pulling your own data.
Experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI.
Experience automating recurring reports or workflows (Python, macros, or AI tools).
