Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Paralegal/Support Lawyer to join our Structured Finance Group. The successful candidate will support a broad range of structured finance and leveraged finance transactions, working closely with lawyers, clients, financial institutions and external advisers to deliver transactions efficiently and within tight deadlines.

This role would suit someone with prior transactional banking experience, ideally gained within a leading international law firm, who enjoys working in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment. Many transactions are time-sensitive and involve managing multiple competing priorities, making this an excellent opportunity for an individual who thrives under pressure and enjoys seeing matters through from inception to closing.

Given the international nature of the practice, flexibility to work outside standard UK business hours on occasion is important, including regular collaboration with colleagues and clients across Asia-Pacific time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Support the execution of structured finance and leveraged finance transactions from signing through to closing.
• Assist with the preparation, review and management of transaction documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of key work products.
• Coordinate transaction processes and manage critical workstreams across multiple stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain transaction checklists, conditions precedent trackers, closing agendas and execution documents.
• Manage signing and closing processes, ensuring all documentation is executed correctly and transaction milestones are met.
• Liaise with clients, lenders, borrowers, trustees, financial institutions and external advisers to facilitate the smooth progression of transactions.
• Monitor transaction timetables and proactively identify and escalate issues that may impact delivery deadlines.
• Manage post-completion requirements, filing obligations and maintenance of transaction records.
• Provide regular transaction status updates to lawyers and other stakeholders.

 
Candidate requirements

• LPC, SQE, law degree or equivalent legal qualification (including foreign-qualified lawyers).
• Experience supporting complex financing transactions, including structured finance, leveraged finance, banking or other debt-related transactions.
• Strong understanding of transaction lifecycles, legal documentation and deal execution processes.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple live transactions simultaneously.
• Comfortable working to tight deadlines within a high-volume, fast-paced transactional environment.
• A proactive and resilient approach, with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience liaising with lawyers, clients, financial institutions and external advisers.
• Flexibility to work longer hours when required to meet transaction deadlines and support cross-border deal teams, including overlap with Asia-Pacific time zones.
• Highly detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to quality and client service.
