About the Client
A Series B behavioral health organization delivering outpatient mental health care across five US states is hiring an HR Generalist to take over high-volume onboarding execution and maintain employee data integrity as the company scales.
The organization provides psychotherapy, medication management, and interventional care both in person and virtually. It has grown to roughly 400 employees, adding six new care centers and hiring nearly 200 people in the past year, 75% of them clinicians, at a sustained pace of about 10% monthly headcount growth. A three-person People team supports the entire organization and is actively building out its systems and processes.
About the Role
This role works alongside the onboarding specialist to support approximately 40 new hires per month: sending templated onboarding communications, building employee profiles in the HRIS, and troubleshooting live issues during weekly Thursday orientation sessions. The remaining time is split between HRIS data cleanup and hygiene work, and triage of a shared people operations inbox.
This is a support role rather than an ownership role, with the expectation that routine onboarding issues are handled independently by the 90-day mark. Success means accurate employee records, same-day resolution of new hire and employee requests, and at least one completed data cleanup or process automation project.
Core Responsibilities
Onboarding Support and Execution
- Support the onboarding specialist on administrative execution for approximately 40 clinical and administrative hires per month
- Send templated onboarding and employee communications from the shared people operations inbox
- Build employee profiles in the HRIS, including compensation, job, and benefits data fields
- Troubleshoot onboarding issues in real time during weekly Thursday orientation sessions, including equipment delivery, system access, and missing documentation
- Support the credentialing team on onboarding-related tasks for clinical staff
HRIS Data Management and Hygiene
- Maintain data accuracy across employee records with admin-level HRIS access
- Execute data cleanup and audit projects to resolve existing hygiene gaps
- Process employee change requests covering compensation, title, and department transfers
- Track how HRIS data fields feed downstream payroll processing
People Operations Inbox and Process Support
- Triage and respond to high-volume employee requests in the shared people operations inbox
- Answer employee questions on PTO, benefits, and company policy over email
- Escalate policy-sensitive or complex issues to the Head of People
- Support process automation and documentation projects assigned by the People team
