Saalex is seeking a Reliability Engineer in Rigecrest, CA. The selected candidate will provide reliability engineering support by administering FRACAS processes, reviewing and resolving trouble/failure reports, performing structured root cause analysis (RCA), driving corrective actions to verified effectiveness, and developing required reliability/quality documentation in accordance with program and contract requirements.
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $140k-$180k annually (depending upon experience)
Work Location: Onsite
Essential Functions:
- Administer all aspects of the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) process.
- Review, evaluate, disposition, and resolve trouble, problem, and failure reports.
- Lead investigations and perform structured root cause analysis (RCA) using established methods.
- Develop corrective action plans and track corrective actions through closure.
- Verify the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions.
- Perform statistical and trend analysis using FRACAS and reliability data.
- Develop and maintain reliability, quality, RCA, and corrective action documentation in accordance with program and contractual requirements.
- Prepare RCA reports supported by evidence and documented corrective action plans.
- Coordinate with peers, engineering teams, and other related functional groups to support reliability activities.
- Perform additional duties that support program reliability and continuous improvement objectives.
Requirements
Required:
- A minimum of 7 year’s of related experience.
- Demonstrated FRACAS experience supporting reliability improvement in a production/test or field reliability environment.
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and resolving trouble/failure reports, including leading investigations and driving closure.
- Strong RCA skills and ability to translate findings into actionable corrective actions.
- Proficiency with reliability/quality tools and concepts (failure mode taxonomy, FMEA logic concepts, corrective action effectiveness verification).
- Strong technical writing skills for RCA and closure documentation.
- Working knowledge of data analysis tools (spreadsheets and basic statistics/trend analysis).
- Familiarity with reliability documentation standards commonly used in defense programs (as required by the contract).
- RCA reports with evidence and corrective action plan.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent experience).
Security Clearance:
Active Secret clearance required, interim secret acceptable to start. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.
