Role Description:

The Regulatory Reporting Industry Engagement & Advocacy Lead is responsible for representing the firm's interests within key industry forums and working groups, influencing non-financial regulatory reporting standards, and ensuring that industry developments are effectively communicated and assessed across the organization.

The role serves as a subject matter expert (SME) on regulatory reporting obligations and partners closely with internal stakeholders to support compliance, policy interpretation, and strategic regulatory change initiatives.

This role will be inclusive of working with the following stakeholders: Change Management, Trade Reporting Control Group (TRCG), Global Compliance and Operational Risk (GCOR), Legal, Operations, Technology, Business Representatives, Industry Trade Associations and Working Groups and Regulatory Bodies and Market Infrastructure Providers

Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in industry working groups and regulatory forums, representing the organization's interests and articulating the firm's position on regulatory reporting-related matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry participants, trade associations, regulators, and market infrastructure providers to stay informed of emerging regulatory developments and industry practices.
  • Understand BofA position on regulatory interpretations to influence industry-led decisions in order to minimize impact on BofA/protect BofA interests.
  • Contribute to discussions, consultations, and advocacy efforts within key industry groups, including but not limited to: ISDA EMEA Data & Reporting Working Group, ISDA US Data & Reporting Working Group, ISDA MiFID Implementation and Advocacy Steering Group, ISDA APAC Regulatory Reporting working group, Global Foreign Exchange Division (GFXD), UK Finance Reporting Working Group, DTCC Working Groups, UnaVista Working Groups
  • Monitor regulatory developments and changes to reporting frameworks across relevant jurisdictions, providing timely analysis and updates to support ongoing compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Assess the potential impact of new regulatory requirements, industry standards, and market practices on existing reporting processes and controls.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Change Management, Trade Reporting Control Group (TRCG), Global Compliance and Operational Risk (GCOR), Legal, and business partners to ensure consistent interpretation and implementation of reporting requirements.
  • Support the development of firm-wide positions on regulatory reporting issues and industry consultation responses where required.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and advisory support to business, operations, technology, compliance, and change teams on regulatory reporting requirements and industry best practices.
  • Assist in identifying regulatory reporting risks and opportunities for process improvement, control enhancement, and operational efficiency.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of global regulatory reporting regimes and associated industry standards.
  • Experience participating in industry working groups, trade associations, or regulatory forums.
  • Deep understanding of transaction reporting, trade reporting, and regulatory reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into practical business impacts and implementation considerations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior stakeholders and represent the organization externally.
  • Experience working across Compliance, Legal, Operations, Technology, and Change functions.
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, and written communication skills.
