About the Role

Supervise 1-2 staff to perform the business-as-usual regular financial closing & analysis for certain line of business, statutory reporting to regulator and ensure proper governance & compliance with regulations and internal policies all statutory assumptions, methodologies and models.

In addition, to support auditing and senior management reporting. Moreover, it is expected to manage other initiatives and projects.

This role contributes to the delivery of customer outcomes that are reliable, thoughtful, and create meaningful impact for customers and society. The role holder is expected to embed a customer first mindset in all decisions and actions by developing a clear understanding of customer needs, taking end to end ownership to resolve issues, and working collaboratively across teams to continuously enhance the customer journey—both directly and indirectly.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Regular Financial Closing (Valuation, Control, Analysis) – (i) Manage the team to perform reserve and capital requirement calculation for certain line of business follow the internal time schedule; (ii) Ensure proper control is implemented and demonstrate to meet internal control requirement; (iii) Perform analysis on reserves, capital requirement and solvency to explain the dynamics with market / demographics / business strategy and take necessary actions.
• Senior Management Reporting – With support of the team to prepare materials to provide insightful information about latest development on statutory valuation and regulatory related for different senior management committee / meeting including FRC, QBR, AC and ALCO.
• Audit management – (i) Prepare audit materials follow the audit time schedule and ensure proper documents are shared with auditors. (ii) Support call and queries with proper communication
• Governance & Compliance – Ensure proper valuation governance and compliance with regulations / internal policy and standards.
• Monthly / Quarterly / Annual Regulatory Filing – Provide management support to regulatory filing & analysis.
• Actuarial Initiatives / Project – Manage the tasks as assigned including impact assessment of changes in assumptions, methodologies and models with support of the team.
• Team management – Coach individual and the teams to improve process & analysis.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• University / College graduate in Actuarial Science, Mathematics and Statistics, Business Administration or related subject with at least 6 years’ experience in life insurance industry.
• Attained or close to attaining in Actuarial professional examination
• Sound people management and analytical skills.
• Good communication, presentation and project management skills.
• Ability to deal with and handle multiple priorities.
• Solid experience and knowledge in insurance product, corporate actuarial work, statutory basis reporting & regulatory filing, solvency & capital management
• Proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge in Actuarial Software, e.g. Prophet is an advantage.
• The incumbent is required to obtain relevant license if the job involves in regulated activities.
