Your New Role
- Support NAB’s Global Regulatory Operations function in the interpretation, analysis and application of G20 regulatory requirements across the suite of OTC Derivatives products.
- Act as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) supporting regulatory reporting obligations across multiple jurisdictions, including ASIC, CFTC, EMIR and other G20 regulatory regimes.
- Leverage product expertise, particularly Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange derivatives, to apply regulatory obligations to OTC derivatives products, including assessment of product attributes, booking models, lifecycle events and complex reporting scenarios.
- Partner with Operations, Technology, Change and Front Office teams to analyse regulatory requirements, provide regulatory interpretation, assess business impacts and support impact assessments arising from regulatory reforms and industry changes.
- Act as the Regulatory Operations SME for technology and change initiatives impacting regulatory reporting.
- Review and validate business requirements, functional designs, testing outcomes and production implementations to ensure technology solutions adequately meet regulatory obligations and reporting requirements.
- Support enhancements to reconciliation frameworks and reporting monitoring capabilities.
- Provide SME support for the investigation and resolution of complex reporting issues, reconciliation breaks and reporting exceptions across trade repositories, internal systems and reporting platforms.
- Perform root cause analysis of reporting inaccuracies, assess impacts arising from system defects, booking issues and data quality concerns, and act as an escalation point for complex regulatory reporting queries and technical interpretations.
- Partner with global Operations, Technology, Change Delivery and Front Office teams, support responses to regulatory enquiries, internal audit and compliance reviews, and participate in regulatory remediations and strategic reporting initiatives.
- Provide ongoing coaching to uplift the knowledge and capability of the operations team, contribute to regulatory reporting best practices and knowledge management materials, and apply deep subject matter expertise to solve complex business and regulatory challenges.
What Will Your Bring
- 8+ years' experience within investment banking, capital markets or regulatory reporting functions.
- Strong understanding of OTC derivatives products, with particular expertise in Interest Rate and Foreign Exchange derivatives.
- Experience supporting regulatory reporting obligations across one or more jurisdictions including ASIC, CFTC, EMIR, UK EMIR, MAS or comparable regimes.
- Strong understanding of derivative trade lifecycle events and their reporting implications.
- Experience performing business analysis, impact assessments and requirements validation.
- Ability to evaluate technology solutions against business and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience investigating complex reporting issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical and regulatory concepts to diverse stakeholders.
