What You Will Contribute:

The Regulatory Compliance Engineer ensures conformance of Product Regulatory Compliance activities for a product line(s), as assigned. Engages with cross functional team to drive regulatory compliance activities throughout product life cycle from NPD through production and maintenance.

Job Duties

• NPD & Sustaining engineering - Provide oversight of Product Regulatory Compliance maintenance activities for assigned product line(s).
• Specialized focus with compliance to EU Regulation 2024/2847 (Cyber Resilience Act). Manage Risk assessment and threat analysis, review SBOMs, compile technical documentation, collaborate with cross-functional teams while leading communications with notified bodies to secure CRA conformity and CE marking.
• Work with the following compliance requirements: NSF-61, EU-DWD, WRAS, MCERTS, OIML, CE-marking Directives (MID, EMC, LVD, PED, ATEX, RED), REACH, RoHS, POPs, CalProp65, TSCA, PFAS, WEEE, PPWR, and similar regulations.
• Evaluate pending/upcoming regulatory & environmental changes and recommend course of action for Badger Meter to take to support compliance.
• May attend agency discussion meetings to offer Badger Meter’s position in upcoming regulation changes, as needed.
• Acts as New Product Development liaison for Product Regulatory Compliance actions.
• Ensure company procedures are followed.
• Define the scope of a tasks/project related to product certifications.
• Develops or provides input to project schedules and budgets.
• Obtain Agency Certification quotations from global agencies relative to new/maintenance projects; prepare associated Purchase Request documentation.
• Draft, gain approval and publish product self-declarations and revisions, as required.
• Develop Wetted Part Lists (WPLs) with Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer for agency submittals, as required.
• Recommend best Regulatory path to satisfy Product Marketing Specification requirements.
• Coordinate transfer of test samples to agencies/testing resources and publishing latest versions of test reports and certification documents.
• Coordinate resolution of non-conformances resulting from periodic surveillance audits.
• Support engineering change processes.
• Interface with BMI technical resources located in Milwaukee and Racine (USA); Neuffen (GE), Brno (CZ), Vienna (A), Lulea (SWE), Bern (CH) and Nogales (MX) as required.
• Provide technical direction/support to other team members for component material declarations and rated environmental compliance.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or post-Bachelor’s degree (Master's or equivalent for Engineering or Engineering Management).
• 5+ or more years of related experience in manufactured product regulatory compliance area with focus on European standards conformance. Experience with EU Regulation 2024/2847 (Cyber Resilience Act) is highly preferred.
• Preferred education background in Engineering, Technology, Material Science, Quality Assurance related to manufacturing & regulatory compliance context.

• Salary range: 75,000-83,000 / month

• Working hours: While the role follows standard CZ working 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM flexibility will be required to support meetings and collaboration with our US-based colleagues
