Description:

This RN position is located at Oconee Heart and Vascular Center in Athens, Georgia. Responsible for assisting the physicians in clinical care of all patients specifically related to cath lab procedure scheduling. This will include working one on one with the proceduralist to ensure the coordination and scheduling of the procedure with the cath lab, ensuring that all labs or diagnostic testing results are completed, reviewed by physician and available, communication and education with patients, ensuring follow-up appointments are scheduled and post op site checks. This position requires excellent communication skills as a liaison between the physician, cath lab staff and patients.

Under the direction and review of a physician, the nurse provides patient care requiring the performance of general medical services in conformance with professional standards and regulations.  Acting as a nurse demonstrates skills and knowledge necessary to assure assessment, treatment, and care is appropriate to the age of the patients served.  According to established protocols, assesses the patients’ health care status and needs and provides patient care to as directed by the physician.  Provides counseling and education to patients in order to enhance patient care.  Documents care provided in order to support the continuity of patient care and optimum patient outcomes.  Care provided is appropriate for all patients.  Performs other duties within job scope as requested. Current State license for Registered Nurse is required. Completion of  Nursing Program at accredited institution is required. 2-3 years physician office experience preferred but not necessary.
