SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager/ Director (or designee) implements, supervises and evaluates the nursing care of each patient undergoing an emergency until the patient is stabilized or transitioned to the appropriate level of care. Utilizes the nursing process in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures, and with consideration of the aging process throughout Brown University Health, including all developmental stages, as well as cultural patterns. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.BASIC KNOWLEDGE:1. Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred.2. Must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.3. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.UNIT SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of RI. BSN preferredCertified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) preferred.Minimum three years of current clinical experience in adult critical care nursing, including responding to cardiac arrests and clinical emergencies, in a hospital setting required.WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:1. Visual and aural ability to monitor patient status.2. Physical ability to assist in lifting and positioning patients.3. Exposed to patient care environment.4.
