Independent Contractor (1099) opportunity through OpenLoop
Location & Schedule: Remote (United States). We’re looking for someone who can commit 20–30 hours weekly, split between up to 20 hours of live patient consultations and 5–10 hours of asynchronous tasks. To maintain consistent patient coverage, at least 10 of your live consultation hours must be completed between Friday and Sunday.

Come and join the #1 rated PrEP provider in North America, Freddie! We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse licensed in multiple states to provide high-quality, virtual sexual health care to our patients across the U.S.
At Freddie, our patients are our #1 priority—we’re passionate about delivering an exceptional, 11/10 star experience. Our team provides empathetic, stigma-free, and client-centered care for those seeking preventative care through PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and DoxyPEP, as well as treatment for those living with HIV. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to reducing health disparities within diverse populations, including those in the LGBTQ2IA+ community.
In this role, you’ll make an impact by:
Providing Compassionate, High-Quality Synchronous Care (~20 hours/week of live consultations)
- Delivering inclusive, expert, virtual care through scheduled synchronous consultations through our virtual care platform
- Leading comprehensive initial assessments for those seeking preventative HIV care, including but not limited to: history taking, risk assessment, and psychosocial evaluations
- Providing comprehensive sexually transmitted and blood borne infection (STBBI) prevention education to clients (with a focus on HIV prevention), including risk reduction strategies and behavioural counseling
- Championing health education and empowerment, helping patients understand their treatment options, navigate stigma, and take control of their wellness
Supporting Seamless Asynchronous Patient Care (5-10 hours/week of flexible async tasks)
- Providing asynchronous care to ensure timely and continuous support for patients, including reviewing results, providing education, and clinical follow-ups
- Maintaining accurate, detailed patient records in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, using a wide variety of virtual tools to chart and connect with patients
- Collaborating with our team of Nurse Practitioners and support team members to support end-to-end patient care
We need someone who has:
- An active Registered Nurse compact state license
- 3+ years of experience in a clinical nursing role
- Clinical experience in a semi-independent practice role in medical patient care and/or sexual health
- Experience providing virtual healthcare
- Excellent communication skills and empathetic care delivery
- Experience working in HIV prevention and/or with the LGBTQ2IA+ community
- Consistent availability for asynchronous patient care tasks (reviewing results, providing education, follow-ups) and up to 20 hours weekly for scheduled shifts, including live consultations. Task volume may vary based on state licensure and patient needs
It would also be great if you have:
- Additional non-compact state licenses, with NV and/or OR being a strong plus
- Experience working with gender and sexually diverse communities
- Experience working in the private sector, a start-up, or a technology company
- Fluency in Spanish
Compensation:
- Compensation is task-based, but on average, independent contractors can expect to earn approximately $40-$50 per hour. Clinicians who are comfortable with virtual care and efficient workflows often exceed this amount.
- Please note that as an independent contractor, you would not be eligible for the benefits available to permanent positions and would be required to provide your own laptop
