Keen to further empower our team by onboarding more talent we are looking to hire an Injection Mold Designer to join our R&D Department. As the Mold Designer, you will design and develop injection molding tools for new products, ensuring technical accuracy and timely delivery. The role is based in Pedino Kilkis, Greece.
Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:
- Designs plastic injection molds (Injection Molds) in accordance with the project’s technical specifications and production requirements.
- Participates in the development of new products by providing technical solutions related to mold design and industrialization.
- Develops 3D CAD models, manufacturing drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for injection molds.
- Selects appropriate standardized mold components and construction materials.
- Collaborates with external mold manufacturers throughout the manufacturing process, contributing to quality assurance and compliance with technical specifications.
- Monitors mold trials, evaluates the results, and proposes the necessary technical improvements and modifications.
- Provides technical support to Production in resolving issues related to molds and the injection molding process.
- Creates and maintains all required technical documentation, including manufacturing drawings, BOMs, work instructions, reports, and technical specifications.
- Collaborates closely with the Production, Quality Control, Procurement, and Maintenance departments to optimize mold performance and reliability.
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing cycle times, production costs, and technical issues.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design Engineering.
- At least 5 years of proven professional experience in plastic injection mold design.
- Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD design software, such as Inventor, SolidWorks, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of VISI and Moldex3D will be considered a significant advantage.
- Strong knowledge of mold manufacturing, machining processes, and standardized mold components.
- Very good understanding of Injection Molding technology and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Ability to read and prepare technical drawings in accordance with international standards.
