In-Office Expectation: This role is expected to work onsite four days per week, with the potential to increase to five days per week, as required by the business. Specific scheduling and flexibility will be guided by your leader to support both team collaboration and individual productivity. 

Summary
We’re looking for a QA Engineer II (3–5 years of experience) to help build an AI-assisted test automation framework — one where test generation, maintenance, and failure analysis are accelerated by AI rather than done by hand. You’ll design and run automated tests across web, mobile, and API surfaces using Playwright and similar tools, and you’ll use AI coding and analysis tools to shorten the loop from “test failed” to “root cause identified.” This role fits someone who treats testing as engineering, is comfortable experimenting with tools that didn’t exist a year ago, and can tell the difference between AI that saves time and AI that creates noise.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks and cases across web, mobile, and API-based applications, incorporating AI-assisted test authoring and resilient (self-healing) locator strategies.
• Accelerate test failure analysis using AI tooling: cluster failures by signature, separate flaky tests from real regressions, extract likely root cause from logs, traces, and screenshots, and generate clear, reproducible bug reports.
• Use AI coding and analysis tools (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Cursor) for test generation, visual testing, and defect prediction — and measure whether they improve coverage, speed, or signal quality.
• Use Playwright and similar frameworks to expand automated coverage and reduce manual testing time.
• Integrate test suites into the CI/CD pipeline for continuous testing, with failure triage built into the feedback loop.
• Write and run automated regression, performance, and smoke tests across multiple platforms and environments.
• Continuously improve scripts for reliability, speed, and reusability; retire or repair tests that generate noise.
• Partner with Software Engineers, Product Managers, and DevOps to understand product behavior and ensure coverage reflects real user expectations.
• Research new tools, frameworks, and AI/ML testing methods; contribute to internal learning and experimentation.

Skills

• AI-assisted test engineering: prompting and steering coding assistants to produce maintainable test code, reviewing AI-generated tests critically rather than accepting them wholesale.
• AI-accelerated failure analysis: using LLM and ML-based tools to triage CI failures, identify flake patterns, and surface root cause faster than manual log reading.
• Test framework design: page-object or component-based structures, data-driven tests, parallel execution, environment abstraction.
• Visual and behavioral testing: screenshot comparison, DOM/snapshot diffing, and AI-based visual validation.
• CI/CD fluency: wiring tests into GitHub Actions or Jenkins, interpreting pipeline results, gating deployments on test signal.
• API and contract testing: Postman, REST Assured, or equivalent.
• JavaScript proficiency sufficient to build and debug framework code, not just write test steps.
• Working knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) as test targets and execution infrastructure.
• Mobile and performance testing fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with AI-powered QA tools or techniques (test generation, failure triage, visual testing, or similar).
• Experience writing automated tests using Playwright or similar frameworks.
• Solid scripting/programming skills in JavaScript.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) and how automated tests fit into deployment workflows.
