About the Role
We're looking for a QA Engineer to join Genie Studio and ensure the quality and reliability of Genie, our AI-powered assistant used by millions worldwide.
You’ll own testing end-to-end across iOS, Android, and Web, covering AI-powered experiences, revenue-critical flows, releases, and A/B tests. Working closely with Product and Engineering, you’ll combine hands-on testing, automation, and strong user perspective to catch issues early and help us ship reliable experiences at scale.
What You’ll Do
Own Testing Across Platforms: Plan and execute functional, exploratory and regression testing for Genie on iOS, Android and Web.
Test AI-Powered Experiences: Validate chat flows, streamed responses and model updates, and catch quality issues in non-deterministic outputs that traditional test cases miss.
Guard Every Release: Run smoke and regression cycles, validate release candidates, and give a clear go/no-go signal for every build.
Test Revenue-Critical Flows: Ensure subscriptions, paywalls, trials, renewals and web checkout work correctly across platforms and pricing configurations.
Validate A/B Tests: Verify that experiments are set up correctly, users land in the right variants, and each variant behaves and tracks as expected.
Detect, Report and Track Bugs: Write clear, reproducible bug reports in Jira, prioritize them with Product and Engineering, and follow them through to verification.
Be Part of the Sprint: Join planning and grooming, review requirements early, surface edge cases and risks, and help define acceptance criteria.
Automate & Improve: Build and maintain automated tests for web and mobile, keep test plans and regression suites up to date, and drive practical improvements to our QA process and tooling.
What We Look For
Experience: 3+ years of hands-on QA in consumer mobile and/or web products, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
Mobile & Web Testing: Strong experience testing iOS and Android apps and web applications across devices, OS versions and browsers.
Release Ownership: Proven experience running regression cycles and validating releases, including App Store and Google Play release processes (TestFlight, internal testing tracks).
Subscription & Payment Testing: Hands-on experience with StoreKit and Google Play Billing sandbox environments and/or web payment flows.
Technical Skills: Comfortable with API testing (e.g., Postman), reading device logs, network debugging tools (e.g., Charles, Proxyman), Jira and test management tools.
Test Automation: Hands-on experience with Playwright, and with Appium or Selenium.
Ownership & Communication: Able to work as the sole QA in a team, set your own priorities, make sound quality judgments without close supervision, and communicate risks clearly to Product and Engineering.
User Perspective: You think like an end user and care about delivering reliable experiences to millions of people.
