KONE purchasing is a global organization of purchasing and supplier management experts responsible for direct and indirect material and service sourcing for KONE.
We are now looking for a Procurement Specialist to be part of the Mechanics Procurement team in the KONE China Supply Line Direct Material Procurement organization.
As a Procurement Specialist, you work on dedicated customer projects together with different stakeholders from supply chain, engineering, and quality.
You support projects in achieving their profitability, delivery time, and quality targets by steering the supplier selection for projects, running RFQs, negotiating prices and delivery terms with suppliers, and identifying new savings opportunities. To succeed in this position, you need to have an open and curious mindset, problem-solving skills, and resilience in a changing environment.

This position is based in Kunshan, China, and directly report to Category Manager, Mechanics • DM Procurement, China.
Your main responsibilities:
- Managing independently all purchasing activities such as supplier contract, price, and RFQ management and negotiation for international projects
- Managing project with suppliers and coordinating project meetings with stakeholders and suppliers, working closely with all the stakeholders to reach agreed targets
- Identifying and driving new cost savings initiatives to achieve saving KPI
- Identify delivery risk and take risk mitigation action
- Lead single source mitigation action
- Coordinate different category to support MOD project cost saving
- Support project supply manager and tendering teams in non-std quotations, samples, and material management processes
- Report monthly key performance indicators
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and savings for projects
- Export and marine project LCC project support
- Other tasks assigned
We expect you to have:
- B or M level degree from a relevant field (e.g., Mechanics, engineering, metal material or supply chain management related)
- More than 5 years’ work experience in purchasing and project management
- Mechanics experience preferred, ability to read technical drawings
- Experience in international project procurement and managing supplier relationships with global customers
- Understanding of the basics of project work and the importance of total cost of ownership, project time schedule, and supply chain.
- Patiently and carefully, adept at managing projects independently as well as working with other business functions
- Analytical and strategic thinking
- Fluent English language skills
- Clear communication skills and good negotiation skills
- Willingness to travel on site and supplier visits
- Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel experience
