The Psychometrist provides comprehensive psychological and psychoeducational assessment support for children and adolescents referred for concerns related to attention, executive functioning, ADHD, and related areas. This role administers, scores, and documents age-appropriate assessment measures, records detailed behavioral observations during testing, and integrates information from multiple sources, including rating scales and collateral records, to support the overall evaluation process. 

This is a supervised role that works collaboratively with the evaluation team. The Psychometrist supports the assessment process and completes the evaluation workflow, including intake, report development, and feedback. A licensed psychologist provides clinical supervision, completes the final review, and signs all final reports in accordance with hospital policy and applicable regulations. Education Specialist (EdS) degree in School Psychology preferred.

A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday, 8:00am—4:30pm. No weekends.  

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

• Conduct clinical intakes with caregivers and children to clarify referral concerns, developmental/educational history, and functional impairments across settings.
• Administer, score and interpret age-appropriate psychological and psychoeducational assessment instruments relevant to ADHD and differential diagnosis (e.g., attention/executive functioning, learning/academic skills as appropriate, behavior/emotional functioning).
• Maintain awareness of deficits demonstrated by each patient and assure that whenever possible tests of other abilities are presented so that “irrelevant” deficits do not interfere with the patient’s performance.
• Integrate collateral data (e.g., rating scales from parents/teachers, academic records, and relevant school documentation when available).
• Synthesize findings across sources to support diagnostic impressions and practical, school-relevant recommendations.
• Draft comprehensive evaluation reports (background, test results, interpretation, diagnostic formulation, and recommendations).
• Provide results/feedback sessions to families, translating findings into clear, compassionate, actionable guidance for home and school, with supervisory support as needed.
• Maintain record keeping and data retrieval systems associated with test batteries; adhere to clinical workflows and quality standards for evaluation, documentation, and turnaround time.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field 

• Master's Degree in psychology or certification by the Board of Certified Psychometrists 

• Completion of two or more Cleveland Clinic courses or other professional development courses approved by Section Head and/or Administrator pertaining to improved knowledge of psychometric principles and/or other job-related skills and knowledge 

• Certification by the Board of Certified Psychometrists (in lieu of Master’s Degree in psychology) 

• 2 years of relevant experience as Psychometrist or equivalent role 

• Demonstrated experience with neuropsychological behavioral assessments and test batteries 

• Course work in psychological tests and measurement 

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity and eye hand coordination.
• Requires frequent standing and walking.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 75 pounds.
• May require moving patients in wheelchairs over short distances.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
