Help shape the success of some of South Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects by partnering with project leaders to guide and support informed, risk-based decision-making.

Our KBR Adelaide team is seeking an experienced Project Risk Lead to play a pivotal role in the delivery of major infrastructure programs. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic risk professional to partner with senior leaders, influence key project decisions, and embed best-practice risk management across complex, high-profile projects. Drawing on your expertise in project controls, governance, and quantitative risk assessment, you will help drive greater certainty, resilience, and value across the project lifecycle.

The Opportunity:

As Project Risk Lead, you will lead risk and opportunity management activities across portfolios, programs, and projects, ensuring alignment with ISO 31000 principles and industry best practice. Working closely with executive leadership, Project Directors, and multidisciplinary teams, you will facilitate meaningful risk conversations, guide strategic decision-making, and strengthen project outcomes through proactive risk intelligence.

This role offers the opportunity to shape major infrastructure investments, engage directly with senior stakeholders, and contribute to projects that have a lasting impact on communities across South Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development, implementation, and governance of risk management frameworks across major projects and programs.
• Facilitate project risk workshops and drive proactive identification and management of risks and opportunities.
• Develop and apply Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) methodologies to support cost and schedule forecasting.
• Partner with project leaders and stakeholders to integrate risk management into project controls and decision-making.
• Prepare strategic risk reporting and recommendations for executive leadership and governance forums.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote a strong risk-aware culture.
• Mentor and coach project teams to strengthen organisational risk capability.
• Support governance, assurance, compliance, and project delivery objectives.

About You:

You are a collaborative and influential risk professional who enjoys working within complex project environments and building strong stakeholder relationships.

You Will Bring:

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Risk Management, Project Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years' experience in risk and/or opportunity management within major infrastructure or capital delivery projects.
• Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks aligned with ISO 31000.
• Experience facilitating risk workshops and engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrated capability in Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) and risk modelling.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of governance, assurance, project controls, and compliance principles.
• Experience across water, transport, energy, or other major infrastructure sectors will be highly regarded.
