Position Summary

Provide leadership and manage the operational and financial aspects of assigned construction project(s); serve as the primary liaison with the client’s project management team. Engage in electrical, civil, and structural discussions; enforce Standard Work Instructions and Quality Programs; drive process utilization, safety, and risk management; and ensure the company’s values are upheld.

Essential Job Functions

Portfolio, Program & Project Leadership

• Manages project(s) from Estimating handoff to warranty.
• Can independently manage up to two projects with minimal schedule overlap, demonstrating self-sufficiency in balancing scope, schedule, and resource needs.
• Develops and leads project plans with increasing autonomy, ensuring alignment with program objectives and adjusting plans based on project complexity.
• Develops project-specific schedules; coordinates and plans across multiple teams as required.
• Makes personnel decisions and approves changes to scope or timing within delegated authority.
• Determines all elements of the project within customer requirements and company standards.

Stakeholder, Client & Communication Management

• Develops stakeholder engagement plans and maintains positive relationships across project teams, directing cross-functional interactions as needed.
• Primary liaison with the client’s project management team for the respective project(s).
• Independently negotiates contracts with support from leadership and is accountable for contract negotiation.
• Understands and upholds the company mission; supports positive client relationships.

Requirements, Planning & Scheduling

• Elicits, documents, and manages complex project and departmental requirements, coordinating verification across multiple deliverables.
• Acts as a subject matter expert resource and technical advisor, supporting decision-making across engineering, estimating, and field teams. Continues to maintain current knowledge through professional development.

Risk, Quality & Change Control

• Manages project-level risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints, using independent judgement to adjust execution plans and develop recovery strategies as needed.
• Specifies and leads the project review process to support evaluation of progress and change decisions.
• Manages and leads assurance reviews; enables independent third-party reviews and resolves identified issues.

Financial Management

• Understands and manages the project budget through monthly forecasting.
• Manages deployment of project resources and leads negotiation and deployment of budget across multiple projects, ensuring financial alignment as scope evolves. Presents forecasts and variances as required.
• Understands and controls project budgets, change management and milestones.
• Meets timing expectations for monthly financial forecasting and project deliverables.

People Leadership, Coaching & Talent Development

• Leads one or more project teams; communicates vision and outcomes; builds team capability through training, coaching, and mentoring.
• Builds the project team’s capability through coaching and day-to-day guidance and mentors across one or more teams as needed, supporting less-experienced Project Managers.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Identifies, implements, and engages innovation within own area of work.

Other Job Functions

• Identifies opportunities for streamlining work and reducing waste in order to improve efficiency.
• Performs additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction or engineering; or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• 5 or more years of total project/construction experience; 3 or more years leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Effective leadership with strong oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of and experience in cost accounting.
• Understanding of construction regulations and rules.
• Ability to develop work plans and project schedules; strong conceptual skills.
• Knowledge of salary structures, market pricing, compensation modeling, and pay practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently to meet deadlines.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
