  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate design development, permitting, procurement, construction support, and project closeout activities.
  • Manage consultant performance, quality assurance, project controls, and client communications.
  • Coordinate closely with airport operations to minimize impacts on aircraft movements and airport functionality during construction.
  • Support contractor coordination, phasing reviews, staging plans, and operational readiness activities.
  • Identify project risks and develop practical solutions to maintain schedule, budget, and operational objectives.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, technical reports, and project status updates.
  • Mentor junior project managers and technical staff while contributing to the continued growth of TYLin's Aviation practice.

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Airport Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Planning or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing aviation infrastructure projects, including significant experience on airside developments.

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary design and engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience coordinating projects within active airport operational environments.

Preferred

  • Experience delivering projects for the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ).
  • Experience with FAA Airport Improvement Program (AIP)-funded projects.
  • Familiarity with ICAO standards and international airport development projects.
  • Experience with Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), or Public-Private Partnership (P3) delivery methods.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Typical Project Experience

The successful candidate will have experience managing projects such as:

Ideal Candidate

You are an experienced aviation project manager who understands the operational complexity of delivering projects in active airfield environments. You can balance technical excellence, regulatory compliance, stakeholder expectations, and construction sequencing while maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational continuity.
