What You Will Do
As a Project Engineer at Collins Aerospace, you will see every step of the product from proposal to introduction into service. The Evacs Engineering organization is a dynamic group of technically sharp and enthusiastic individuals who have a wide variety of passions and interests, both in and out of work. On any given day, you may come to work and walk into a testing environment which includes personally sliding down the product.
- Established and productive professional contributor to development and qualification efforts of aircraft evacuation slide components
- Works autonomously on small but complex projects including but not limited to hardware design, testing, and processing as part of a cross-functional team (IPT)
- Contributes to the development of goals of the discipline and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.)
- Performs data gathering plotting and presentation
- Participates and leads root cause analysis and drives robust corrective actions for evacuation slide manufacturing and fielded product
- Coordinates the building and testing of prototypes
- Creates qualification test reports and field investigation reports
- Executes tasks to a detailed technical schedule
- Technical interface with customers, suppliers, partners, and regulatory authorities
- Contributes to the development of goals of the discipline and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans, etc.)
- Prepares presentations and presents program status, milestones, risks, mitigation plans, etc. at regularly scheduled program reviews
- Manages Bill of Materials (BOM) in Team center PLM
- Collaborates with team member across the IPTs both face to face and through multiple electronic forms
- Follows CMS process to execute projects
- Participates in the CMS gate reviews as technical contributor
- Familiarity with program requirements (customer, AS9100, certification, industry standards, and business requirements)
- Helps identify project risks (technical, schedule, cost, quality, etc.) to prevents risks from becoming issues
Qualifications You Must Have
- Master’s or Advanced Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and/or PowerPoint)
- Experience with project management or project scheduling
- Experience with New Product Introduction
- Experience with RCCA tools
- Involvement with a performance review/feedback process

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
