Position Overview
As a Project Controls Specialist, you will support project controls functions across large-scale hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects. Working closely with Project Managers, Project Controls Managers, field leadership, accounting, procurement, and executive stakeholders, you will assist in developing forecasts, tracking project costs, monitoring budgets, maintaining reporting systems, and supporting project performance analysis.
This role serves as a key resource for project teams by providing accurate project data, maintaining reporting consistency, identifying performance trends, and helping ensure projects remain aligned with financial and operational objectives.
Success requires strong analytical capabilities, financial awareness, organizational discipline, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Support project controls activities including forecasting, budgeting, cost tracking, reporting, and project performance analysis.
- Assist with maintaining project budgets, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project dashboards.
- Monitor project costs, commitments, labor performance, procurement activities, and productivity trends.
- Support monthly forecasting cycles and project reporting processes.
- Assist in identifying budget variances, schedule impacts, risks, and performance trends.
- Help maintain project controls systems, tools, procedures, and reporting standards.
What You'll Do
- Support project controls efforts across hyperscale data center and mission-critical infrastructure projects.
- Analyze project costs, commitments, forecasts, labor productivity, procurement status, and project financial performance.
- Develop and maintain project reports, dashboards, KPI metrics, and forecasting tools.
- Assist project teams with budget management, change tracking, cash flow forecasting, and project reporting.
- Support project reviews, forecasting meetings, operational reviews, and executive reporting activities.
- Collaborate with accounting, procurement, project management, field operations, and scheduling teams to maintain accurate project information.
- Track project trends and identify opportunities for improvement in project performance and reporting.
- Support project startup, execution, commissioning, turnover, and closeout reporting requirements.
- Assist with implementation and continuous improvement of project controls processes and systems.

What It Takes
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Business, Project Management, Economics, or a related discipline and 2+ years of project controls, project management, cost controls, scheduling, finance, accounting, construction, engineering, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience supporting construction, mission-critical, data center, EPC, utility, industrial, power, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, cost management, project reporting, procurement tracking, and project performance measurement.
- Experience supporting project financial analysis, cost reporting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, or operational reporting is preferred.
- Ability to analyze project costs, commitments, productivity trends, procurement status, and financial performance data.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Power BI, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, InEight, Oracle Primavera, SAP, Oracle, or similar project controls platforms is preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with project teams, field personnel, accounting, procurement, scheduling, and executive leadership.
- Commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel approximately 75% and support long-term onsite project assignments throughout North America as required. Travel may include extended durations based on project assignments and business needs.
