As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for understanding Silgan’s safety and manufacturing policies, procedures, practices, quality, product safety, and line technology to effectively serve as a leader and resource for all employees.

What You will Do as a Manufacturing Production Supervisor:

• Supervise and support employees in the production of metal closures.

• Ensure product quality, food safety compliance, and a strong safety culture.

• Learn and apply SPC principles, SOPs, and productivity standards.

• Manage equipment and production flow to maximize efficiency.

• Develop, mentor, and assign work to employees while maintaining labor contract compliance.

• Foster a positive workplace and lead with effective communication.

What you Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• Skilled trades experience such as machinist, mechanic, millwright, tool and die, electrician, or engineering experience is highly desirable.

• Seeking individuals with a strong mechanical and technical aptitude.

• 1-3 years’ experience in a production supervisory capacity desirable.

• Must have strong communication skills, ability to effectively influence others, and problem-solve. 

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop others.

• Computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

Individuals must be able to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime.   Limited travel is required from time to time. Must be physically capable of walking, standing, lifting, flexing, bending, and climbing as necessary to carry out responsibilities. Individuals will spend the majority of the day, around 85 percent, on the production floor. Work environment contains heat, cold, dust, noise, chemicals, and high-speed manufacturing equipment.
