Production Planning Manager

Division Overview:

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. With a large printable surface area and a wide range of sizes, shapes and decorating options, our aluminum cans are the perfect packaging format to create compelling brand presence where it counts. Location:

Bradley, IL - This facility manufactures standard beverage cans for some of the top consumer product companies.

Position Overview:

The Production Planning Manager has the responsibility of coordinating all production planning activities for the manufacturing operations. This individual will be involved with the daily activities of production, inventory, warehousing and distribution for the finished products produced in the plant.

Duties And Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Production Planning Manager’s responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:   

• Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data
• Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments
• Manage volume and manufacturing location changes as needed to meet customer requirements
• Monitor inventories of raw material, work in process, and finished goods in an effort to minimize costs and achieve plant inventory goals
• Oversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability
• Conduct audits for compliance in department standards and practices
• Assure inside sales and plants utilize the ‘system’ through on site auditing and clear tracking metrics
• Maintain accurate “needs attention” inventory and implement measures for improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement through training and strategic planning
• Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, operations research, or related area
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, logistics or materials handling
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment
• Approximately 10% travel
• Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support

Preferred Requirements

• Packaging industry experience
• Certificates in APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing
• Knowledge of AS400/iBMI

Physical Requirements

• While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
• The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus

Working Conditions

• Generally works in an office setting but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environment
• While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic 
• The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
• The noise level is frequently loud

COMPENSATION

• Salary Range: $ 91,527 - $ 152,545 annually
• Annual bonus eligibility
