Job Description

Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World 

As a Production Planner for Automotive Division you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.  

Here, you will make an impact by: 

• Working closely with the manufacturing team and value stream leadership to determine the best way to resolve supply constraints and balance service, inventory, and cost to meet business targets.
• Maintaining detailed and up-to-date production schedules, determining schedule priorities, and analyzing production schedules to monitor schedule attainment.
• Controlling the short and mid-term capacity situation on a daily basis for given work centers, escalating any capacity issues and constraints internally.
• Leading and/or participating in data analysis and hands-on parameter management improvement efforts
• Knowing, understanding, and improving key metrics such as Backorders, Lead Time Adherence, OTIF, Inventory, etc. These topics will require daily communication and participation in the Tier process.
• Actively managing working and non-working inventories in assigned businesses to maintain compliance and achieve inventory investment targets

Your Skills and Expertise   

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain, preferably in production planning in a dynamic and high-volume production environment
• Experience within multiple supply chain roles (demand, supply, production & procurement planning)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, able to perform data analysis with mass data sets
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Intermediate-level English skills in both speaking and writing are required

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: 

• Proficiency with SAP and Microsoft 365 Applications
• Experience working on cross-functional and international teams
