Boyd Thermal by Eaton is seeking a Production Lead in our Niagara Falls, NY location.

Primary Function:

The Production (Department) Lead is responsible for overseeing Safety, Quality, Delivery (Scheduling), and Productivity within their assigned team, while also completing their individual daily responsibilities. This role provides clear direction and is accountable for the team’s overall performance and effectiveness. The Lead typically serves as the primary trainer and/or coordinates training efforts within the department and is responsible for the onboarding and integration of new associates.

This position is for 1st shift (7am-3pm or 6am-2pm).

Pay: $20-$27.00/hr + $2.00/hr Team Lead Premium

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Essential Functions:

·       Coordinates the execution of production schedules and oversees the production processes

·       Provides expert guidance and leadership within their area of responsibility

·       Ability to learn and lead multiple departments and manufacturing processes

·       Reviews Daily Dispatch Reports for accuracy, maintains full visibility of all jobs within the department, proactively addresses issues or delays, and communicates job status effectively with Planning and the Supervisor.

·       Ensure that employees are clocking in and out of jobs accurately and that completed jobs are transacted promptly to the next step in the process

·       Provides technical support for complex production issues and setup challenges, leads or coordinates training efforts with departmental resources, and assists personnel in identifying and recommending continuous improvement opportunities.

·       Assists supervisor to ensure personnel are trained on departmental work instructions, procedures, and maintenance of personnel’s training records

·       Escalates safety, performance, or behavioral concerns to direct supervisor or manager

·       Delivers consistent, calm, and effective leadership while supporting the team in resolving issues and maintaining daily operational flow

·       Promotes a culture of safety, quality, and accountability by supporting the Gemba Walk, ensuring adherence to ethical work standards, maintaining labor efficiency, and promptly addressing safety incidents or concerns

·       Responsible for 5S cleanliness in department and surrounding areas

·       Wear PPE as required by assigned department and/or task (respirator, etc.)

·       All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic qualifications:

• High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED). 
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw and apply valid conclusions
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
•  Must be willing to work hours required to support operations
• All positions require use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms regulations. All applicants must be U.S. Persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. Person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior related work experience (1+ years)
• Ability to use micrometers and calipers
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
