About the team

In Product Management, you will have the chance to learn how to develop business cases for new product opportunities, develop scalable customer-centric products, and see those projects through to go-to-market. When joining one of our highly collaborative product teams, you will have the opportunity to build and manage great products. We are looking for passionate and talented professionals who share our vision for developing scalable customer-centric products with agility and excellence.

What you’ll do : As an Associate Product Specialist Intern, you may:

Collaborate with teams to solve customer and business challenges.

Use data, research, and insights to support product decisions.

Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities and risks.

Support product planning, delivery, and continuous improvement.

Communicate ideas and recommendations to stakeholders.

Explore emerging technologies, including AI, and their business applications.

Build knowledge of digital products, technology, and the payments ecosystem.

Projects other Product Management Interns have worked on:

Antonia worked on a product that helps customers assess their cyber risk. Her team needed to understand the performance of new features, so she built a dashboard tool to analyze user engagement and inform future product improvements

Thomas developed a competitive analysis of a business intelligence product to understand market offerings and how Mastercard’s product compared. His analysis helped the team identify which features to accelerate on their roadmap

Sarah worked with stakeholders and customers to understand the analytics needed for our application, then developed the roadmap for incorporating a 3rd-party data analytics tool into the app experience.



What we’re looking for

Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or accelerated Masters program with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028

Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to manage priorities and stay organized.

Curiosity and eagerness to learn about customers, products, and technology.

Ability to identify opportunities and contribute new ideas.

Adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Attention to detail and a focus on delivering high-quality work.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel and PowerPoint.

Interest in technology and emerging fields, including AI, data, APIs, and digital products.

Pay Range:

Arlington, VA; Purchase, NY - $34/hr USD

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. The base salary offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
