Product Designer – UX/UI, Design Systems & SaaS

Location: Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico
Position Type: Full-Time, Remote
Working Hours: U.S. Business Hours

About the Role

At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Product Designer (UX/UI) to own the end-to-end product design experience across web and mobile applications.

This is not a purely visual design role. We’re looking for someone who combines UX research, product thinking, UI design, prototyping, and design systems to solve real user problems and create intuitive, scalable digital products.

You’ll work closely with Product Managers and Engineers throughout the product lifecycle — from understanding user needs and mapping workflows to designing polished interfaces, maintaining design systems, and supporting implementation.

If you think in user journeys, flows, systems, and outcomes — not just individual screens — this role is a strong fit.

What You’ll Own

UX Research & Product Discovery

  • Conduct user interviews, usability testing, and product research.
  • Analyze user behavior and identify friction across the product experience.
  • Translate research into:
    • User flows
    • Journey maps
    • Personas
    • Wireframes
    • Interaction models
  • Use qualitative and quantitative insights to recommend product improvements.
  • Work with analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, or similar platforms to support design decisions.

UX/UI & Product Design

  • Own design from early concepts through production-ready interfaces.
  • Create:
    • User flows
    • Wireframes
    • Interactive prototypes
    • High-fidelity UI
  • Design intuitive experiences across web and mobile applications.
  • Simplify complex workflows into clear, user-friendly experiences.
  • Create responsive layouts for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
  • Iterate quickly based on user feedback, product requirements, and analytics.

Figma & Design Systems

  • Work extensively in Figma to create and maintain production-ready designs.
  • Build and maintain scalable design systems and reusable component libraries.
  • Establish and document standards for:
    • Typography
    • Color
    • Spacing
    • Components
    • Interaction patterns
    • UI behavior
  • Maintain consistency across products, features, and platforms.
  • Improve collaboration and efficiency between Product, Design, and Engineering.

Accessibility & Usability

  • Design accessible experiences aligned with WCAG 2.1 principles.
  • Consider accessibility throughout the design process rather than as a final-stage requirement.
  • Ensure interfaces work effectively across devices, browsers, and screen sizes.
  • Identify usability issues and continuously reduce friction across key workflows.

Testing, Analytics & Optimization

  • Conduct usability testing to validate design decisions.
  • Support A/B testing across:
    • Layouts
    • User flows
    • Features
    • Interaction patterns
  • Analyze user behavior and product feedback.
  • Use findings to improve:
    • Usability
    • Conversion
    • Engagement
    • Retention
    • Task completion
  • Continuously iterate on launched experiences rather than treating design as complete after handoff.

Product & Engineering Collaboration

Work closely with:

  • Product Managers
  • Engineers
  • Developers
  • Other product and business stakeholders

You will:

  • Translate product requirements into clear design solutions.
  • Participate in product discussions and feature planning.
  • Communicate design decisions and rationale clearly.
  • Prepare developer-ready designs, assets, and specifications.
  • Use Figma Dev Mode, Zeplin, or similar tools for handoff.
  • Review implementations and help resolve UX/UI inconsistencies before release.

Required Experience & Skills

Core Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional Product Design or UX/UI Design experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating real product design work.
  • Strong proficiency with Figma.
  • Experience designing responsive web and/or mobile applications.
  • Experience creating:
    • User flows
    • Wireframes
    • Interactive prototypes
    • High-fidelity interfaces
    • Design systems
  • Strong understanding of:
    • UX principles
    • Interaction design
    • Information architecture
    • Responsive design
    • Usability testing
    • Accessibility
  • Experience collaborating directly with Product Managers and Engineers.
  • Strong visual design skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Ability to work remotely during U.S. business hours.

Portfolio Requirements

Your portfolio should demonstrate more than polished final screens.

We want to see evidence of:

  • The problem you were solving.
  • Your role in the project.
  • User or business requirements.
  • Research and discovery.
  • User flows and UX decisions.
  • Wireframes and prototypes.
  • Final UI execution.
  • Design system or component thinking.
  • How feedback, testing, or data influenced your decisions.
  • The outcome or impact of your work.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Experience designing SaaS products.
  • B2B or enterprise software design experience.
  • Consumer application experience.
  • Experience building or scaling mature design systems.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Mixpanel
    • Amplitude
    • Hotjar
    • Product analytics platforms
  • Experience with experimentation and A/B testing.
  • Basic understanding of:
    • HTML
    • CSS
    • JavaScript
  • Experience working in Agile or sprint-based product teams.
  • Familiarity with developer handoff through Figma Dev Mode or Zeplin.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

You:

  • Think about the entire user journey rather than isolated screens.
  • Can explain the reasoning behind your design decisions.
  • Balance user needs with product and business objectives.
  • Enjoy simplifying complicated workflows.
  • Use research, feedback, and data rather than designing entirely from intuition.
  • Think systematically about reusable components and patterns.
  • Care about accessibility and usability.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers.
  • Are comfortable receiving feedback and iterating quickly.
  • Can independently take a product problem from discovery through final design.

What a Typical Day Looks Like

Your day may include:

  • Reviewing product requirements with a Product Manager.
  • Analyzing user behavior or customer feedback.
  • Mapping a new user journey or workflow.
  • Creating wireframes for a new feature.
  • Building an interactive prototype in Figma.
  • Designing polished responsive interfaces.
  • Conducting or reviewing usability tests.
  • Updating components within the design system.
  • Working with engineers on implementation questions.
  • Reviewing a developed feature against the approved design.
  • Analyzing post-launch feedback and identifying opportunities for improvement.

In short: you turn user problems and product requirements into intuitive, scalable, accessible, and visually polished digital experiences.

Key Metrics for Success

  • Improved usability and task completion rates.
  • Increased product engagement and retention.
  • Reduced friction across critical user journeys.
  • Quality and consistency of UX/UI execution.
  • Design system adoption and consistency.

  • Exposure to research, UX, UI, analytics, and experimentation.
  • Fully remote environment.
  • Growth opportunities into:
    • Senior Product Designer
    • Lead Product Designer
    • Design Lead
    • Head of Design
