Principle Tasks:

Familiar with SFP, QSFP-DD, OSFP, CFP and other packaging forms, as well as the product specifications and manufacturing processes of optical modules with different rates such as 100G/200G/400G/800G/1.6T

• Optical Coupling Process: Proficient in key processes such as AA coupling (active alignment) and single mode optical path alignment, capable of optimizing process parameters through DOE experiments to improve yield
• Packaging Process: Proficient in Chip on Board, Chip on Substrate, and other packaging forms, with expertise in Flip chip, Die Bonding, Wire Bonding, laser welding techniques, selection and dispense of optical and thermal epoxies
• Module assembly and testing process: Proficient in optical component soldering, fiber splicing, handling, TIM material application, support failure debugging
• Work with management team to select and set up critical optical alignment systems from 3rd party
• Responsible for introducing new products, optimizing production process, and handling product manufacturing related issues
• Transfer optical module products from design phase to stable mass production
• Validate and standardize critical process parameters, review CM tooling and manufacturing process development (including Optics soldering, Fiber cleaving, splicing, recoating, routing, Hot bar soldering, Dicing, bumping, die attach, die bonding, wire bonding, epoxy, Active alignment for fiber array, Sealing, Ceramic substrate balling, laser welding…)
• Lead Pre-DFM and Post-DFM review with R&D and CM
• Understand CM mfg capabilities and the latest industry trend, give professional proposal for new products, new part or new technology selection to R&D
• Lead failure analysis for production defects. Adopt tools such as DOE, Gauge R&R, SPC, Cpk/Ppk for parameter tuning and process improvement
• Support product reliability verification. Identify root causes and drive corrective actions, to make sure products satisfy industry specifications and customer requirements
• Provide on-site support at CM to ensure that our product mfg requirements are met, especially for the engineering changes (ECO, Deviation) during NPI phase.
• Align with suppliers to confirm material & process specifications
• Solve on site mass production technical bottlenecks to boost yield, raise production efficiency and cut manufacturing costs
• Summarize project experience, precipitate technical documents
• Conduct optical tolerance analysis and leverage data analysis for process iteration
• Cooperate with R&D, PM, TE, SCM and quality teams to deliver projects under schedule

Skills / Qualifications / Training / Experience:

• Fluent written and spoken English
• Has 5+ years’ manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, and quality control experience in the optical module or optical component or EDFA industry
• Capable of overseeing the transition from design to mass production, with priority given to candidates who have completed projects
• Familiar with manufacturing process in Packaging process, coupling process, PCBA, box build assembly etc.
• Proficient in PFMEA, Control Plan, DOE, Gage R&R, statistical analysis capabilities (e.g., Cpk/Ppk). Able to independently analyze and resolve production site defects
• Familiar with PDM application e.g. Agile
• Some knowledge of production testing will be preference
• Has Project management/quality management-6 sigma experience and skill
• Bachelor’s degree in Optical Engineering, Optoelectronics / Microelectronics, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering
• Self-motivation and teamwork player
• Open, honest, loyal
