We are seeking a Principal Visual Inspection Engineer to join our Internal Fill/Finish Manufacturing team. In this role, the Principal Visual Inspection Engineer specializing in visual inspection (fully automated); leads equipment selection and process development; establishes and optimizes the visual inspection program and product-specific recipes; develops KNAPP/test sets and training/qualification content; provides hands-on support during tech transfer, cGMP start-up, and routine manufacturing; and drives validation and operator training for assigned equipment and processes.

• Location: Rensselaer, New York, United States

• Work model: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

• Travel: 10% international & domestic

Discover your role:

• Acts as a technical SME for assigned visual inspection equipment and processes

• Responsible for recipe development, vision system tuning, and life cycle management of semi-automated and automated processes and associated vision systems

• Supports Project Engineering, QA Validation, and Process Validation in new equipment startup, commissioning, and qualification/validation activities

• Supports technology transfer/new product introduction and the development or revision of defect classifications and manuals

• Partners cross functionally to implement or revise policies and procedures for the visual inspection program

• Gathers, trends, and analyzes process-generated data and implements continual improvements

This role requires:

• BS/BA in Life Sciences, Engineering or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience

• Principal VI Engineer: 8+ years of relevant experience

• Staff VI Engineer: 10+ years of relevant experience

• Level will be determined based on experience

• Experience in pharmaceutical automated visual inspection and camera tuning
