A fantastic opportunity has presented itself for a Principal, Responsible AI where you will play a key role in building trust in AI across the organisation and helping nbn unlock the benefits of AI responsibly for our customers, employees and communities.

A bit about your role 

As the Principal, Responsible AI, you will lead the development and ongoing evolution of nbn’s enterprise-wide Responsible AI strategy, roadmap and governance framework. Working collaboratively with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, you will help create the trusted foundations that enable nbn to embrace AI innovation responsibly and deliver meaningful value for our customers, employees, partners and the broader community.

You will guide the implementation and oversight of AI governance processes, policies and controls, helping nbn manage risk, meet evolving regulatory obligations and embed fairness, transparency and accountability throughout the AI lifecycle. You will also chair nbn’s AI Risk Council, contribute to broader Digital, AI and Data strategies, engage with government and industry stakeholders, and support teams to confidently translate enterprise frameworks into practical, responsible ways of working.

A bit about you 

If this sounds like the role for you, you will bring extensive experience in governance, compliance, risk, legal, regulatory or security environments, together with strong knowledge of Responsible AI, AI ethics and relevant domestic and international laws and policy. You will understand the opportunities and risks presented by AI systems and have experience designing and implementing complex governance frameworks or enterprise-wide programs.

You are a thoughtful, collaborative and purpose-led leader who builds trusted relationships and brings people together around shared outcomes. With strong analytical, communication and influencing skills, you can navigate ambiguity, listen to diverse perspectives and translate complex requirements into clear, practical approaches that support responsible innovation. Your inclusive and considered leadership style will help nurture a culture in which AI can be used confidently, safely and for positive impact across nbn.
