LEAD BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST (HEALTHCARE & REAL WORLD EVIDENCE)

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Amgen is seeking a Lead Business Systems Analyst to join the Real World Evidence (RWE) Product Team.

As a Lead Business Systems Analyst, you will work closely with business stakeholders, Product Managers and technology teams to define requirements, improve processes and deliver solutions that support Real World Evidence initiatives.

You will act as the bridge between business and technology, translating business needs into clear and actionable requirements that drive product development and business value.

Roles & Responsibilities:  

• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to understand and document requirements.

• Translate business needs into user stories, features, and actionable requirements.

• Support backlog management, prioritization, and planning activities.

• Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering teams to deliver business value.

• Facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ensure requirements, acceptance criteria, and business objectives are clearly defined.

• Support system enhancements, integrations, and new product capabilities.

• Maintain documentation and ensure alignment across teams.

• Participate in product demonstrations and stakeholder presentations.

• Help drive continuous improvement of business processes and technology solutions.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

Basic Qualifications and Experience: 

• Master’s degree and 8+ years of relevant experience OR  

• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of relevant experience OR 

• Diploma and 14+ years of relevant experience

Must-Have Skills: 

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for tackling complex challenges

• Experience with Agile software development methodologies (Scrum) 

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity 

• Experience writing user requirements and acceptance criteria in agile project management systems such as JIRA

• 8+ years of experience performing BA specific work

Good-to-Have Skills: 

• Experience in managing product features for PI planning and developing product roadmaps and user journeys 

• Experience supporting healthcare, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, clinical, research, or other regulated environments.

• Technical thought leadership 

• Able to communicate technical or complex subject matters in business terms 

• Jira Align experience 

• Knowledge of Cloud technologies and GCP validation

• Experience of DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Delivery methodology 

• Data warehouse / big data, data analysis experience

Soft Skills: 

• Able to work under minimal supervision 

• Skilled in providing oversight and mentoring team members. Demonstrated ability in effectively delegating work 

• Excellent analytical and gap/fit assessment skills 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills 

• Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams 

• High degree of initiative and self-motivation 

• Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully 

• Team-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals 

• Strong presentation and public speaking skills 

Working Model:

This role works closely with stakeholders located in the United States.

Due to close collaboration with US-based teams and stakeholders, the expected working hours for this role are typically 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Portugal time.

This is not a shift-work position. These hours reflect the need to support regular collaboration with colleagues located in US time zones.
