Principal Contracts Manager (Office: Nashville, TN or Cambridge, MA)

The Principal Contract Manager leading complex contract negotiations and ensuring terms align with company goals, legal requirements, and organizational standards. Serves as a contract management subject matter expert, providing strategic guidance to senior leaders, assessing and mitigating risk, and resolving challenging disputes. Also mentors team members, contributes to policy development, and partners across functions to align contract strategy with business objectives.

Your role:

• Subject matter expert in contract management, providing strategic guidance on high-value, complex GPO and enterprise contracts to senior leadership, the C-suite, and key stakeholders.
• Leads negotiation, drafting, and execution of intricate contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives, legal standards, and Philips’ policies, controls, and procedures.
• Conducts risk assessments, develops mitigation strategies, resolves complex disputes, and ensures contractual terms can be operationalized across fulfillment, invoicing, and other downstream processes.
• Partners across sales, operations, legal, and other functions to support RFP/RFI/RFQ efforts, improve contract processes and tools, mentor team members, and contribute to policy and strategy development.

You're the right fit if:

• 7+ years of experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex enterprise commercial contracts within a technology-based company (i.e., Microsoft, Dell, Oracle, Intuit, etc.)
• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Law or equivalent. Legal Degree preferred.
• Your skills include experience drafting and negotiating GPO contracts, solution focused problem-solving, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, strong Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Salesforce, Conga/Apttus, Adobe Sign; Lean process training a bonus.
• You’re an excellent communicator whose style is energetic, inspirational, and empathetic with the skill to persuade others and gain cooperation. Additionally, you are very organized, can multitask, thrive in a deadline-driven workplace, manage the day-to-day transactional work associated with projects and establish priorities to make sure tasks are completed.  Flexible hours with 10% travel based on customer needs and business expectations - required.

How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details  

The pay ranges for this position are:

• The pay range for this position in Nashville, TN is $117,000 to $187,000
• The pay range for this position in Cambridge, MA is $132,000 to $209,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.   

Additional Information   

• US work authorization is a precondition of employment. The company will not consider candidates who require sponsorship for a work-authorized visa, now or in the future.
• Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.  For this hybrid position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Nashville, TN or Cambridge, MA.
