Principal Associate, Project Manager - Product Operations (Execution & Talent Enablement)

As a Principal Associate, Project Manager operating within the broader Product Strategy & Operations organization for Capital One’s Commercial Bank, you will drive operational excellence and talent development across product teams. In this role, you bridge strategy, delivery, and talent by standardizing Jira workflows, managing Commercial Product’s Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) frameworks, and executing capability-building routines that optimize performance, accelerate output, and empower high-performing teams to move strategic goals forward.

General Responsibilities:

• OKR Methodology & Reporting: Establish and maintain Commercial Product’s OKR methodology, reporting routines, and tracking cadences. Equip product teams with frameworks and templates to align local deliverables with top-of-house strategic metrics.
• Delivery Tooling & Workflow Optimization (Jira): Manage Commercial’s Jira platform operations, reporting, and team-level enablement. Drive team adoption of standardized workflow taxonomy to bring structure and consistency to execution.
• Talent Development & Engagement Execution: Execute organization-wide associate engagement programs, capability-building routines, and talent development tracking.
• Operational Discipline: Drive day-to-day operational discipline across product teams through standardized Jira workflows, OKR tracking cadences, and talent enablement routines—delivering high-leverage practice and talent optimization.
• Executive Artifacts & Reporting: Create and maintain core operational artifacts used for MBRs, QBRs, and executive stakeholder engagement.
• Thought Partnership & Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership, quickly putting structure in place to manage complex bodies of work.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
• At least 3 years of Project Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree
• 5+ years of Project Management experience
• PMP, Lean, Agile, or Six Sigma certification
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Strong problem-solving and influencing skills
• Work experience achieving results with complex projects

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Charlotte, NC: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Project Manager

 

McLean, VA: $120,800 - $137,900 for Principal Project Manager

 

Richmond, VA: $109,900 - $125,400 for Principal Project Manager

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
