Key responsibilities
- Extract, clean and prepare data with SQL / BigQuery and Python; automate repetitive tasks and document code so others can rerun it.
- Clarify the question and agree the approach before starting, then deliver analysis to the agreed brief.
- Run, build and refine models using established methods (e.g. risk, demand, retention and forecasting models), reading diagnostics such as lift, residuals and hold-out results.
- Run regular processes, for example rate reviews, optimisation cycles, trading changes, ancillary pricing and MI.
- Build and test pricing changes in the team’s tools (e.g. Radar), including pre and post-deployment checks, with documented test evidence; peer review changes made by others.
- Monitor portfolio and model performance (mix, conversion, retention, loss ratio, actual vs expected), explain movements and flag anything unusual.
- Interpret results commercially: impact on volume, margin and customers, market and PCW position, and GIPP, Consumer Duty and fair-value implications.
- Check own work and reconcile to known sources before handing it over.
- Produce clear outputs and present own analysis to the team, managers and Heads.
- Share knowledge and code with colleagues and contribute to team projects and process improvements.
- Works to an agreed brief; independent on standard work and escalates non-routine or ambiguous problems.
- Implements pricing changes within agreed guidelines and thresholds, after review and sign-off.
- Raises blockers and errors early and takes responsibility for fixing own mistakes.
