The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Practice Support Executive to join Corporate Team 9 (CT9) on a 12-month fixed term contract. We welcome applications from candidates with previous support experience who are looking to further develop their skills within a busy and collaborative professional services environment.

The ideal candidate will take pride in delivering exceptional support, demonstrate excellent judgement, and have the confidence to work independently whilst remaining a collaborative and supportive team player.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide proactive day-to-day support to five Partners and the wider CT9 fee-earning team.
  • Coordinate complex domestic and international travel arrangements across multiple jurisdictions, including visas, itineraries and last-minute changes.
  • Manage busy diaries, scheduling meetings across multiple time zones and resolving diary conflicts.
  • Process expenses, invoices and other administrative tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage matter openings end-to-end, including conflict checks, engagement letters and ongoing matter administration.
  • Act as a professional client-facing point of contact, liaising confidently with clients, PAs and other external stakeholders.
  • Prepare, amend and proofread legal and business documents, presentations and correspondence.
  • Support complex billing processes, including reporting through Power BI, monitoring WIP, processing disbursements and responding to billing queries.
  • Assist with matter management, reporting and data tracking to support fee earners and Partners.
  • Coordinate internal and external client meetings, events and business development activities.
  • Build strong relationships with Business Services teams, including Finance, Business Development, Compliance, Document Production and Practice Support Administration.
  • Proactively identify issues, recommend solutions and drive tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.

Key Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Practice Support Executive, administrative support or similar client-focused role within a professional services or corporate environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, able to liaise directly with clients and senior stakeholders in a professional and assured manner.
  • Highly proactive and solutions-focused, with the ability to independently assess issues, identify options and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent judgement and problem-solving skills, including the ability to review complex information, identify gaps and take appropriate action.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trusted working relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Ability to remain calm, resilient and effective in a fast-paced and often changing environment.
  • Familiarity with matter opening processes, conflict checks, engagement letter management and matter lifecycle management.
  • Billing experience, including WIP management, reporting, disbursements and responding to billing enquiries.
  • Strong team ethic and willingness to collaborate with colleagues across support functions.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and operate with minimal supervision.

Desirable

  • Previous experience within a law firm or legal professional services environment.
  • Experience supporting Corporate, transactional, or other fast-paced fee-earning teams.
  • Experience managing complex diaries and international travel arrangements across multiple time zones.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI or similar reporting tools.
