As a political correspondent for Sky News in Westminster, you will be at the forefront of multi-platform reporting – breaking stories and delivering dynamic coverage in digital videos, TV, audio and social media. You will have a zest for breaking your own stories, finding new lines and a host of creative ideas about how we communicate these to our audience through engaging political content.

What you’ll do:

• Break original political news stories for Sky News across all platforms including digital video, TV, audio, online, and social platforms.
• Using your expert insider knowledge, analyse what the latest political developments mean in a wider context for all platforms.
• Pitch ideas for undiscovered content and contribute to live blogs and interactive features for diverse audiences.
• Cultivate your extensive political contacts to aid Sky’s reporting.

What you’ll bring:

• A keen news sense and ability to spot unique stories and newslines ahead of competitors.
• Deep knowledge of the UK political scene.
• Experience with high-quality stories for digital video, TV, radio, and social media outlets.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, adaptable to various formats.
• Ability to work independently and in teams, under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Strong contact book of politicians and stakeholders.
• Flexibility for changing work patterns and commitment to accuracy, regardless of platform.
